Music to walk down the aisle too....?

6 July, 2010 at 21:42 Posted on Planning 0 36

Hey ladies

For those of you having civil ceremonies, what are you walking down the aisle too? Me and H2B are sat on Spotify trying to find something good but everything we come across is too slow/depresseing/fast/inappropriate/indie!!

Inspiration is needed!

I'm walking down with my bridesmaids to 'Wonderful World by Katie Melua & Eva Cassidy & then me & H2B will walk out as husband & wife (wow can't believe that'll be us in less than 4 weeks!!) to 'You're my best friend' by Queen.

Took us a lot of time to decide though!!

We have been thinking about this for what seems like years. Think we gave up last night and decided to get a pianist to play instead. All we have to do now is decide what we want himm to play lol

We had "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King, then "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer for the register bit and then walked out to "All you Need is Love" by the Beatles.

Im having a Sigur Ros song as my OH is a huge fan so im doing it as a suprise!

i think its Staralfur that Ive chosen, I really like Hoppipolla but it reminds me of the BBC ad or a nature programe and i dont want people thinking of hippos rolling in the mud as i walk doen the aisle!

Coming in we had Savage Garden (truly, madly, deeply)
Signing the register Ronan Keating (when you say nothing at all)
Leaving we had the instrumental of the Verves (bittersweet symphony)

    I can't stop listening to them .....?

Our venue is being a bit picky with what music we can have, there saying we should just have their classical type stuff but its soooooo not us! were into heavy metal and alternative music (altho were considering florence and the machine, youv got the love for our 1st dance as its personal to us) so my compromise with the venue is were thinking about having the metalicca song i want to come into but the version by vitamin string quartet! that should shut them up! we really want ben e kings stand by me for the registers but the curator of the old hall says she doesnt like music with words! erm hello..............its MY wedding!!!

We have just finalised our music. We couldn't decide between the candlelight remix of DJ Sammys Heaven and Savage Gardens I Knew I Loved You for my entrance. Finally decided on Savage Garden although we have gone for an accoustic version that I found on you tube. We are having From This Moment by Shania Twain for signing the register and Better Together by Jack Johnson for leaving the ceremony.

    Hope this helps! x

I'm walking in to the opening bars of Take That's A million Love Songs... I love the piano and Saxophone bit, so does OH...and its long/short enough for the walk down the aisle.

I want to walk out to the happy version of the Eastenders DumDums...OH isn't overly impressed by this!!!

Cliche with a twist here - I'm walking in to Pachelbel's Canon BUT played on an acoustic guitar by my MOH's other half. No idea about any other music yet.

Gah this drove me nuts, it took me weeks and weeks (actually call that months and months!) to decide, i managed to nail it about two weeks before the wedding.

Im a bit of a rock chick, and i wanted something different so i went with 'love song' (you will know it sung by The Cure) by 311 (it was sung in the movie 50 first dates) the lyrics are beautiful and it suited perfectly for our something different.

Haha! Strangely it was my OH's idea - I wasn't the biggest fan of the film! I think OH would still rather we'd had "You'll Never Walk Alone" for his beloved LFC, but I vetoed that one!! xx

    Hi,

I'm walking down the aisle to Adele - Make You Feel My Love, me and OH chose it, then when I told my Dad he said the Bob Dylan version was one of his favourite songs, so win/win!

We're going to walk back up the ailse to The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger, silly I know however years ago me and OH were on the TV during a rugby match dancing to it and it always makes us smile when we hear it ? x

I'm walking down the aisle to Lonestar - Amazed. The starting words just did it for me and, as cheesy as this may sound, as soon as i heard it i knew it was the one

    We are having

Natasha Beddingfield's version of chasing cars to walk in

Jack Johnson Better toghther for signing

and.. Jason Mraz - Im yours for walking out

The final two are both of our favourite songs and the first is just beautiful, She covered it in 2007 for radio 1's live lounge and it melted me the first time i heard it! x
