Think about other rings/jewelry that your fiancee wears or admires. What cuts and colours does she go for?

You could have 1,000 people on this board tell you they love that ring - but if it's not her thing, then it isn't a good engagement ring for her. And if 1,000 people say they don't like it - that's irrelevant if it's your OHs dream ring!
