Brilliant! Did you know you'd paid PPI?

Great news, I know it sounds stupid but so wish me or OH took it out. He's adamant he didn't on any of his loans but I really want to try and find out!

Yeah. It was the only credit I've ever had and I thought it was really grown up to insure it!

Buzzee, you can write to your bank/credit provider and ask for a summary of your accounts. Don't forget that things like PPI apply to credit for car purchase and so on.

    Yay, fingers crossed.

I had a follow-up phone call to check some details, so not sure if you have similar to hand. The bank needed walking through my sick pay and redundancy package, as these aren't standard. I also needed details associated with Death In Service benefits, from both work and pension schemes. As my main claim was that I didn't need the PPI, I suspect they were trying to identify a scenario where I might have needed it and refuse a refund on that basis.

I recently got offered just over £7k back on a closed loan and on one which was still being paid off. I accepted then when the money landed in my account (same institution that I bank with) they paid about £2k more! I think the extra was something to do with restructuring the existing loan but that meant that my loan has now been fully paid off and I'm now nearly £400 a month better off - that will make a nice dent in the wedding savings target.
