Post Ceremony Drinks

Melanie, 20 July, 2022 at 09:07 Posted on Planning 0 16
Good ol' Google comes up with bubbles or buck fizz.. now me and my other OH don't drink those kind of things. Any other suggestions? Looking for something different and odd that would suit us.

Anything you want really, winter I have seen hot toddies, Summer pims and lemonade, buckets of bottled larger, cocktails, mojitos. Actually thinking its very rare that I see champagne at the post ceremony drinks - sometimes bucks fizz but its mostly wine and beers and some soft drinks I see on offer.

What sorts of flavours do you like? What kind of thing would you drink normally?

Can't help you with alcohol as I can't touch the stuff for medical reasons, but for soft drinks, there are some brilliant ones out there now: Feel Good - although they don't do Cranberry & Lime any more, which was my favourite. Cawston Press is also good - love their rhubarb one. Bottle Green also has a good range (maybe slightly more conventional) although I find some of them a bit on the sweet side.

So I'm a lager drink and my OH is a whiskey drinker but our venue has asked us not to have beer or spirits as they sell them. I was thinking of Shloer but my mum complained it was sweet. Thinking of Shloer Nd Bubbles. But was wanting something different and odd if that makes sense

Im not sure what you mean when you say "our venue has asked us not to have beer or spirits as they sell them" as that is the case in every venue with a bar.

Are you saying that you are providing the drinks for this stage and not the venue and they dont want your guests to drink your supplied and not pay at the bar ?

Yes, we're to provide the post ceremony drinks but not to clash with the bar as they supply drinks at the bar.

I see. In that case why don't you ask them if you can get some speciality lagers in that the bar do not sell as they probably only have the basic standard stuff. Probably not a good idea to try that with the whisky that early on in the day but what about whiskies for the favours.

In that case, I'd look at Cawston Press or Feel Good - they both have more unusual soft drinks that are not as sweet as Schloer, and fewer people have heard of them. Especially Feel Good. I always get blank looks when I mention their drinks!
