Pre wedding or post wedding gathering

Jade, 4 May, 2024 at 10:57 Posted on Planning 0 7
We’re getting married abroad, and can’t decide if it’s better to do a pre wedding drinks gathering once everyone arrives a day or so before the wedding. Or do a post wedding gathering day after the wedding.

I've photographed quite a few destination weddings where they get married outside of the UK then hire me again to photograph a 'reception' style party when they return to the UK where the Bride and Groom can re-wear their outfits. This scenario seems to be the norm. Hope that helps.

I clicked on spaceslots.uk after scrolling through a UK Discord channel where people were sharing their “biggest tease moments.” Inspired by the chaos, I tried a Megaways slot. The first 20 spins did nothing, but the moment I reduced the bet size, the bonus finally landed — typical. It didn’t blow my mind, but the cascading wins during the feature felt smooth and kept the balance moving. A nice little ending to the night.

Both options work well, so it really comes down to the vibe you want and the energy levels of your guests. A pre-wedding gathering is great if you want everyone to meet each other beforehand, break the ice, and feel relaxed going into the wedding day. It sets a friendly tone, especially for a destination wedding where people might not know each other well. The downside is that people are usually tired from traveling, so you’d want to keep it casual and not too late.

A post-wedding gathering, on the other hand, has a more relaxed feel because the pressure of the big day is over. People can show up whenever, lounge around, and chat without worrying about schedules or getting up early. The only catch is that some guests may already be leaving or packing up, so you might have a slightly smaller crowd.

If you want everyone to bond before the ceremony, choose the pre-wedding drinks. If you want a chilled, low-pressure way to wind down and actually talk to people you didn’t get time with on the wedding day, go for the post-wedding meetup. A lot of couples actually do both but keep each one light and https://zumbaliciouscrew.com/en/blog/how-to-start-a-beginner-friendly-at-home-zumba-workout informal.
