Real Petal confetti

DarkMoomin, 17 February, 2012 at 22:58 Posted on Planning 0 24

Hey guys,

Sorry for being full of the questions today - you know when you have a day of just getting stuff sorted out?

Anyway - realised yesterday that although we told guests we are only allowed real petal confetti, we should probably not assume that people will bring it and that I should get some in for photo's etc.

Started having a look and I'm confused aboyut what I should buy!! Is it just the freeze dried rose petals? I figured they would be pretty big, and confetti doesn't need to be that big surely?

Also, how much do I need? I have no idea how much a pint or a liter of petals would be?

Anyone got any ideas?

Many many thanks!

DM x

I think a few of the girls on here have have real rose petals so hopefully someone will come along to help. Just another thought.... I saw on the TV a couple of weeks ago a company which does real delphinium petals as confetti which I've never seen before. I'm almost sure it was on the Cornwall programme with Caroline Quentin. He had fields and fields of mahoosive delphiniums in all colours!

Try shropshire petals and daisyshop.co.uk as well. Not sure on the quantities though, i'm afraid.

I was looking at this yesterday too. I found a company who say a pint of confetti is equivalent to 10 handfuls. 1 pint is enough to fill approx 10 cones or bags. They reccomend small rose petals or delphinium as throwing confetti.

We had rose petal confetti (was made by OH aunt so can't help with supplier I'm afraid). However I would just like to mention that although it is natural and beautiful in the photo's it felt like someone had chucked cornflakes down my dress so if possible, try not to let it disappear down your cleavage! ?

I ordered delphinium petals from Shropshire petals, 5 litres which were 40 quid. Really good quality and they're available in loads of colours. They arrived really quickly too!

    Hey M-Y,

Have you bought these? or just found them?

They are the same price really as the delphinium... now can't work out which would work best as confetti - like the idea of the roses but wonder if they are too big to throw effectively.... its always the little things that I get bogged down in!!

    Cheers!

I've bought them, and so have a few of the others on the 2012 FB Group - I think they will work out really well as confetti, but I'm sure any sort of petal will do ?

If you are interested in REAL petal confetti there is tropical & exotic bougainvillea petal confetti which floats absolutely great. It is not as heavy as rose petals nor are they as small as other petals such as delphinium petals. Their colours, lightness and size are unrivaled with any other petals. They are resistant to fading as well once store in a cool dry place they can last for months.
