Registrar booking - how long?

We’ve provisionally booked our venue for 6th July 2023, and they are holding the date whilst we talk to caterers and book the registrar. They have said they will hold for 14 days. However, I’ve contacted the registrar office in question, who are apparently experiencing ‘significant’ delays in...
We’ve provisionally booked our venue for 6th July 2023, and they are holding the date whilst we talk to caterers and book the registrar. They have said they will hold for 14 days. However, I’ve contacted the registrar office in question, who are apparently experiencing ‘significant’ delays in getting back to people.


Has anyone had any experience with this? How long did it take for the registrar to confirm a ceremony date and time, once you’d sent through an enquiry?

    We literally just called up and got booked in on our chosen day and time straight away. Just had to pay the deposit and got sent a confirmation email within 5 minutes. Ours is with Cheshire East Council so they may all vary

    Have you had any joy? When I rang up last week they told me we were looking at 2-3 months. They put me down for a callback, but still haven’t heard a single thing

    Eugh!!! It’s so annoying!!! We’ve just gone ahead with planning and sending save the dates. Worst comes to worst, we’ll just do blessing ceremony in the day. Hopefully we both get a call back sometime in 2022 😂😂😂😂
