Hi Ladies.. I'm an "old timer" on here and got married 2nd May 2015.

Very happily married still and now a grandmother of 4 beautiful grandbabies...

Mr Mac and I went on holiday to Mexico in May 2018 and unfortunately whilst out there, I found a suspicious lump and a few weeks later diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.. I have now been in remission for 3 years (just had my 3 year checkup)

We were meant to be returning to the same resort in Mexico this year (in fact we should be there now) but we have talked about it and we are planning on returning in 2023, this will be my 5th year in remission and "hopefully" then classed as cancer free so my checkups would go from annually to 3 yearly..

Anyway, we have talked about renewing our vows whilst out there, just the two of us, no fuss, just something simple and romantic.. A part of me would like a "proper" dress though.. I want to start looking lol... but in another sense I don't want to as I have lost a large part of my breast that I don't think that I'm going to look feminine?

What a brilliant idea to renew your vows at the same time. I love it.

As for the dress, I’d say go for it. How often do we get to wear wedding dresses 😂 I’m sure once you have it on and actually try some in the worries of feeling feminine will go. It must be extremely hard, especially as women we all have this ‘ideal’ in our heads. But it doesn’t matter if your covered in feathers, have extra limbs or missing some bits. Your going to look stunning. I know a lot of bridal shops can cater for ‘different’ body types. My best friend has a bag and she ended up getting a slim flitting Lacy dress. She’s so paranoid about it yet when she went in and the shop assistants were so helpful and lovely.
You can get fakes and with a higher neck line you wouldn’t see it, just the shape. Though I say show your natural body and be proud. You are a warrior and a super brave woman ❤️❤️ Whatever you choose to wear you will look stunning.
