Second thoughts on wedding dress

I found my wedding dress back in summer and went to pick it up a few weeks ago. It was supposed to be delivered in my size and correct length but when I tried it on it was still way too long and two dress sizes too big (a fault with the dress maker which is being discussed), but now I feel like I don’t love the dress. I don’t know if it’s because it still doesn’t feel like my dress as it’s so big and long, or if I’m looking back at photos with bad lighting etc. Has anyone else experienced this? I can’t decide it I loved it at the time or if it was just the first one I tried that I actually liked. Worrying that I’ve made a very expensive mistake!!

I was the same when I went to get mine as it was too big still. Now it has been altered and the accessories added I put it on and fell in love again. It is normal to doubt yourself but please try and wait until it has been altered and you can try on with your shoes, veil etc and i an sure it will all be ok. If you really don't feel it then you can maybe get another one and then sell it on. good luck X

I've been married before and had very serious dress doubt prior to my first wedding. At one point I actively disliked it, and same as you was poring over pictures taken in a horribly lit shop when it was 2 sizes too big.
A week before the wedding I went for my final fitting after alterations and it was absolutely perfect. So much so that I have struggled to find a dress for my second marriage as I couldn't envisage ever liking one more.
So don't give up hope! x
