Secret Santa questions

ForTheLoveOfMrsBrown, 22 November, 2011 at 13:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 36

Do any of you scrutinise the postmark to try to work out who has bought the gift (I have two people in mind that I'd bet my life on them doing so)? Mine would be straightforward to identify - should I go to the trouble of posting elsewhere? Or do most people reveal who they are anyway, so it's not worth the bother?

This is a little bit of a problem for me as mine will be a massive giveaway.

Well, one of my options would be to get it posted near you, which might solve your problem as well Smiley smile

Posting from work - lol which is a different area from where I live

but to be honest I dont scrutinize postmarks.

Last year - my SS wanted to know who bought theirs, on the reveal thread - so I owned up.

I still dont know who bought mine last year and I like not knowing lol

I have already admitted to doing this after seeing the Hitchers locations thread but to be honest there are so many of Hitchers from the same area it would be hard to guess I think.

Snap! But I change the settings to get rid of the address.

Mine would be a giveaway too so I'm getting H to post it from work as lots of Hitchers live in that area so it's a bit more mysterious!

I have a question, which may well be a silly one...

Do I have to wrap it in brown parcel paper over my fabulous wrapping paper or can I just send it as it is?

You could wrap it and rebox it, wrapping the external box in brown paper?

I found when receiving wedding rsvps that most of the post marks were obscured so you might not see any clues! I didn't receive mine last year so no idea if there was a post mark or not!

If we send them 'signed for' then hopefully every one should get them this year. It would be a shame for someone to miss out just because posty can't get his act together.

The postmark thing did occur to me (was I your other one, Footlong?) but didn;t have too many options!

Should we post a list somewhere when we haev received our SS so we can see if any are missing?

We had a grand unveiling thread and another one for those who wanted to thank their SS personally I think ?

Can I also just add to say and check the postage costs, as I had to pay £5 to pick mine up last year ?

It was a lovely exfoliation set with moisturisers and gloves. I have used it a few times in the bath Smiley smile It just took the niceness off the gift a bit.

That sound nice, though I was imagining a bowling ball or something!

My gift is pretty light, but nonetheless I shall be sending from the Post Office.
