Shoes or boots?

Judith, 4 January, 2022 at 09:21 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 8
Hi, I’m getting married in October, I’ve got my dress and being an older first time bride I’ve gone for a tea length dress. now I’ve got a problem on what to where on my feet.
I don’t do heels or ballet pumps. I not a traditional shoe person I tend to wear boots or flip flop sandals.
As it’s October flip flops are out so do you think boots will look daft. I’m kinda liking cowboy or tassel boots. My dress is ivory so if I went with boots would tan or brown look ok? Thoughts please.

How about your bike boots Smiley xd

I remember shooting a wedding with a tea length dress and they had lace ankle boots which could possibly work as a halfway option. As you already have your dress then perhaps you can order options for home delivery and see what works.

I have a tea length dress also and need shoes that are stable and comfy as I live in flats so have gone for something like this:

Women's Wedding Shoes Lace up Block Heel Round Toe Wedding Pumps Classic Sweet Wedding Walking Shoes Satin Stretch Satin Ribbon Tie Lace Solid Colored White Ivory **** – £61.92 (lightinthebox.com)

Like Bill said, maybe go for bike boots if that's your thing or some converse, that you can bling up to add some quirkiness. Have a look on Esty, there are loads of decals you can buy to add to your shoes, and they also sell some quirky shoes that may work

I have a tea length dress and for the evening reception, I am changing into wedding Converse with white ribbon laces and the words "I do" in blue (our accent colour) on the heel. There is a website:

    Good luck!

I’ve got a tea length dress too and I’ll be wearing converse. Gonna try personalising them.

One of my cousins had her bridesmaids in tealength dresses, and they wore sandals (in December - brrrrr!) for the ceremony, and then changed into boots for the reception.

I think boots will look fine, but if you can't find a pair you like, you could wear furry boots to travel to & from the wedding and then just wear flipflops for the ceremony and photos!

I think you've already answered your question. If you feel better in boots, and you obviously want to wear them at your wedding, why are you asking us? I mean that you have to get more courage and go with that. Remember that no one has the right to judge the way you're dressing, and your happiness shouldn't depend on people's thoughts and standards. At my wedding, I wore these yeezy boost 350 , and many people were staring at me like a reckless individual. Honestly, I didn't care about that, and I hope you'd have a great wedding!
