This is a great thread, I dont remember one being done like this before. Your venue looks gorgeous kentishbride! (Just dont sit at table 5!!)

We are having a civil ceremony in Crewe registry office in this room,

And will be holding the reception here (I went to many weddings here and I have always wanted my reception here)

    I cannot wait!

I think theres a reason why no one asks about venues.... (for fear of someone doing the dirty and cancelling on people)......so without giving away any details, this is my church..albeit in 1885!

and this is where i'm having my wedding reception

Both of your venues look stunning.

    Willownat - any reason why i can't sit at table 5? ?

And i didn't think about the potential dangers of showing your exact venues - pls feel free to just post links if you are uncomfortable with giving exact locations x

lovely venues ladies - keep em coming

Hi Stazzle - i'm fine. How are you, most things sorted? We got our dj and phototographer/videographer booked. waiting for more cash to enable us to book cars etc.

Having to get a move on to get good prices as we get wed on st. georges day and the tories want to make it a bank hol if they get in next election. If they do all suppliers cost will soar so we want to do things asap. ?

Oooh yeah how annoying if the prices do soar, good thinking about getting in there quick! I'm fine thanks, in a bit of a planning rut as our venue still haven't released prices for 2010, and won't do so till August (so annoying as they've been taking bookings since Sept last year!) so I feel as if I can't really book the photographer/videographer yet in case something changes with the prices - this is doubtful but still, feel uncomfortable booking other things while the venue is still only provisionally booked. We've been doing some budget research though, so that's some of the boring stuff out of the way at least!

Everything is so expensive! We were thinking we may not even get a videographer depending on the costs of the other stuff, as our wedding is going to be pretty big (unavoidably) and the same with a wedding car too, as no one will see me arrive anyway. Decisions decisions! You thought about style of dresses/colour schemes yet or anything?

Bluewater - thanks we really fell in love with it!!! We had to compromise a bit with dates as although we were 2010 there were NO Saturdays free in the summer at all! This was in May this year, too! So we've gone for a Sunday instead.

Your venue is absolutely beautiful too though, not sure I've seen it before!

How do you post the pics into the actual posts?

I don't have any pictures of my venue, but it will be ceremony in a walled garden at my Dad's house (With ready made 'aisle' of steps up to a terracy bit where the ceremony will be performed), followed by reception in a marquee in the paddock (same venue) where I used to keep my ponies.

We will be 'signing the book' earlier on in a broom cupboard somewhere in Reading ?

have you lol?! I certainly have staggered about around it quite a few times up and down corn street!!

Its great to hear some feedback, that the functions are good - you are the first person who has told me that! Not that anyone has said bad things, just no-one has said anything at all!!!

I have never been to a wedding there but I've been to both a sit down meal (full silver service type of thing) and a buffet. Food was great but to be honest I cant really comment on the staff as dont really remember seeing any! By that I mean when our meals were being served they sort of floated in and out without you noticing them! Which to me is a good thing!!

There are 2 ways I know of. The pic has to be online you cant copy it from your PC though.

Right click on the pic and copy it, then right click on your post and paste.

    Or

Right click on the pic you want and click on 'properties'. Highlight and copy the 'url'. Click on the 'tree' icon at the top of the message pane (next to smiley) and paste the url into 'image url' box.

I have found that some pics dont work but if I save it and upload to my flickr account I can do it from there.
