Ooh, forgot Wires by Athlete, that literally makes me sob.
Also, Somewhere over the Rainbow makes me cry but this version is the most beautiful version I've ever heard. It was played at our friend's wedding and had me ?.

Lots of songs catch me off guard, but only three make me cry every time:

    - The hymn May I be always close to you breaks my heart and was sung at my grandmother's funeral
    - Two Little Boys and Seth Davy - Rolf Harris

This House - Alison Moyet. I played this constantly after my dad died.

The Dance - Garth Brooks (there are instructions that I want this played at my funeral)

September Blue - Chris Rea - the words are something else "I'll be all right though I may cry..."?

I'm actually quite surprised at peoples answers, some of the songs that make you weep I wouldn't listen to if I was on pain of death!

I must admit that there is one song guaranteed to make me sniffle, and that's Rainbow Connection, sung by Kermit the Frog...i know, i know [:I]

I'm a big old softie and cry at all sorts of nonsense.

I can only think of one tune that always makes me cry though and it's from the soundtrack to "The Mission" (think it's called Gabriel's Oboe). No idea why, but I sob whenever I hear it. ?

Also the classical operatic piece The Pearl Fishers...very empowering, more to give you goosebumps and a lump in your throat.

Hurt by Christina Aguilera. I heard it the day I drove home from the hospital just before my dad died. The words rang so true because at the point I was blaming his smoking for his cancer.

Also Take That I'd Wait for Life. I even blubbed at the concert - proper sobs!! And Butterfly at the end of the Beautiful World album!!

The worst for me, and I can't quite believe no one else has said it, is Who Wants to Live Forever? by Queenid="red">. God I have goosebumps just thinking about it. I remember Seal having to sing it for the Freddie Mercury concert and he said before he didn't know how he was going to sing it without filling up.

That one makes me feel sad, but Those Were The Days and Love Of My Life make me bawl.

Somewhere over the rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

    Both for different reasons.

Another vote for Christina Aguilera - Hurt.
Also, Those were the days, by Queen. And Eva Cassidy, Songbird.

It tends to be classical stuff that really makes me blub though.
Nessun Dorma, the Pavarotti version, is a guaranteed winner. As is Pachelbel's Canon.

But the one that ALWAYS makes me sob, without fail, is Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascangni.馃ケ

A song called Our Farewell by Within Temptation; the combination of the lyrics and the pure, sweet tone of the singer's voice gets me every time.

Also, 'Crash and Burn' by Savage Garden.

Can't believe I forgot this song, absolutely guaranteed to make me weep. And Half Way Down The Stairs sung by his nephew Robin comes pretty close too. ?

My then in-laws retired together after running a newsagents with 4am starts for 28 years and MiL died 4 days later. My FiL sat and played this at his organ while his best friend recorded it to be played at her funeral.

    Two little boys
Sorry seems to be the hardest word.
You send me - Steve Miller version. H played this to me not long after we'd got together and we danced to it.
    Daniel by Elton John

I know there are more but I can't remember them.

Cat's in the Cradle Always makes me cry as the song describes my dad's life when I was a child and my life now. Our communication is mostly on the phone making plans for the next time we meet - usually several months down the line. (Just like the phone call I had with him yesterday, actually.)

Don't Give Up - Bush/Gabriel Reminds me of very desperate times we had 6 years ago.

The Scientist - Coldplay played at my aunts funeral, and its the line about going back to the start that gets me everytime.
Also, As Long as You Love Me (Backstreet Boys), and Sunchyme (Dario G) - utterly random I know, but these were my sisters favourite songs at the time she died, and we played them at her funeral so they get me ? too.
