Table Names - again!

Haha, I've done this and left it up to D to choose, so far the options are AC/DC albums/other favorite bands/albums or Marvel/DC superheros or comic book covers ? I'm kind of swaying to the albums coz we can have our favorite music/bands etc which is very 'us'.

Fry12: my advise would be to pick something that means something to you both, holidays, hobbies, dates, etc or if you have a theme, have something that ties in with that.

Ours are similar to nutella's but with childhood sweets instead

We had old hollywod starlets as I love all the old films and we have several pics up at home of Audrey and Marilyn.. We had found pictures of them on their wedding days and used those as the actual table table names in frames on the table, next to our centre pieces. Our theme was black and ivory so it worked well with that. Of course we were on Audrey Hepburns table! Our table plan had a film reel below with all the pictures in so guests knew which pic they were looking for.

Were having the head table of the place he proposed to me in cornwall and the rest of the tables are the places we visited in cornwall that week XX

We still haven't decided, a few ideas are being considered:

- Tors (the 'hills' on dartmoor, where we live)

- Wheals (tin mine workings - again, there's loads where we live)

- Discworld books/characters/groups of characters - would prefer to do characters, but we can't find decent figurines of them to put on the tables, books will be easier.

I like the idea of something local, all of my family and half of our friends will be travelling across the UK to Devon so it'll be nice to show off something about the area - we hope to take everyone out on Dartmoor the day after the wedding. But Discworld books are something we both enjoy, and people should be able to relate to them easier.

Ah well, almost a year to decide!

I'm surprised OH hasn't wanted to do something related to Star Wars or Plymouth Argyle. I don't really mind if he does - I'd be OK with table numbers but he thinks names are more fun/interesting, which is true.

I'm quite crafty so i decided that we were having cross stitched Disney couples, we so far have: Wall-e and Eve, Simba and Nala, Ariel and Eric, Aladdin and Jasmine, Belle and Beast, Snow white and Prince, Pongo and Perdy, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty and Prince, Robin Hood and Maid Marion, Cinderella and Prince, We haven't decided which one will be the top table My OH will decided when they are all finished.

We got engaged in New York, so our top table is called The Plaza (where we got engaged) and the rest named after other NY places.

We had table numbers because I couldnt think of anything that was 'us', plus OH's suggestions were just stupid, or football related! ?

Some fab ideas in here ladies! Fry12 - do you have a theme you an tie in with / shared hobbies / important places / anything linked to location.

We like cooking so think a good idea would be to call each table after a different herb and then also incorporate that herb into table centre pieces. The give away mini herb pots as favours.

You could also do this with flowers and give away seeds as favours.

Also really love the idea of places we/ve visited tpgether with images/maps of the places used in satationary.

Famous couples is a lovely one too.

Ours are going to be the names of stages at Glastonbury as we're having a festival themed wedding and love Glastonbury. A friend had places they'd visited as a couple, with the top table being the place they get engaged which I thought was a nice idea.

We're toying with *table* names...

Pool, Bird, Poker, Picnic, Pasting, League, Periodic, Dining, Snooke & Coffee.

Going back to the earlier discussions about OH's picking the table names, I spoke to mine last night and mentioned this thread. He then asked if that meant he could pick the table names and I said "ok then". This was then followed by an evil smile and a very naughty giggle from OH - what have I done??!!
