Table plan

Lucy, 7 November, 2021 at 17:29 Posted on Planning 0 7
I only have 20 people including us for our reception but my mum mentioned table plan but I never even thought about it, I was planning one big table, 10 each side. Would you let people sit where they wanted or easier to place them??

For the numbers you have you don't really need to do one, only thing I would say is set place for bride and groom so you are in the middle. If you are worried about arguments or people not getting on then it may be a good idea to do one but not essential

I would definitely place them. That way you can ensure you sit the right kind of people/characters together and ensure there is no drama! At the same time, if you opted for round tables these are generally a little more sociable than long tables so worth considering if this is an option for you.

For only 20 people I wouldn't really think there would be much use for a table plan unless you really need to place people in order for them to feel comfortable with who they're sat next to!

I’m only having 27 people including FH and I. We’re doing one long table and I’m definitely doing assigned seating. I feel it’s easier to make sure that immediate families can all sit together, enough seats to make sure kids are with parents etc. It’s also to make sure people are sat next to people they are comfortable with. I think it’s really dependent on family dynamics and who is invited though!

We had 20 of us on our day. I did a seating plan so that the venue could put favours and gifts in the correct places. We had one large oval table which was lovely. Table plan 1
