Just wanted to show my first finished invitation (I just have the rest to put together now!) and hopefully this might help others that are also making invitations.

Front:

I got all the card from PDA card and craft (following recommendations on here). They are pocketfold, and I ordered pre-cut card for the main bit and the inserts. I also ordered a few sheets of extra card for the square on the front. The 'ribbon' bit is just some free vellum I got with my order, with a design printed on.

I designed all the inside with Photoshop - there are 2 inserts, one of them is double sided with directions on one side and accommodation on the other. The reply insert is perforated and guests can tear off the bottom part to post back, or RSVP by email / website.

No problem at all, always happy to help fellow hitchers ?

If anyone who hasn't got the card swatch is wanting to order a certain colour, I could take a picture of it to give you a better idea of the colour? I know it still may look different on the screen, but it's better than what's on the website.

I remember admiring these when you first flashed and they're still looking just as lovely. Have your spares gone already? We're having purple as our main colour and I love the shimmer of the pocketfolds. In the swatch pack, were there any ivory/pearlescent samples? Or custardy/warm yellows?

    Thank you! ?

Yep there are a few that are very similar, here are the pearlescent ones, there are also some plain card and textured ones (loooooads to choose from). The bits of card are only about 1" by 2", so these are zoomed in:

Eek, my first post and I can't believe its going to be this mundane, but what did you do about envelopes??

Did you buy them from PDA also?

    Thank you!

I absolutely love these! I really want to make m own invites, but it's the printing that worries me. I hope you don't mind me asking, but what sort of printer have you got? And did you find it printed easily enough?

Thank you! Yeah the printing was fine, I just designed what I wanted to print first with a nice swirly faded background, onto normal white paper. I made sure the print quality settings were set to 'best' and it looked great. We have a HP photosmart printer but I'm sure any will look good with the quality settings on as high as you can. Hope this helps ?

Thank you for this! I have just ordered the swatch and sample pack to see what I can do. It works out cheaper to do this than my original plan, so provided the colours are what I would like, we're away!! ?

Congratulations on getting married! I hope you enjoyed your day and are loving being a Mrs!

Can I ask as to how you 'sealed' your invites? We're finally getting round to sorting ours out and are arguing over how best to seal them!

    Thanks

Thank you ? well I had bought some velcro dots, but didn't end up using them. I just used a tiny bit of double sided tape - just enough to keep it closed but it still opened easily.

Hi Leedsbride, you're invites look stunning, so I have ditched my vistaprint plans and I'm going to try my hand at making some of these, so thanks for all the info, its been really helpful. I realise you've already been bombarded with questions but I have another I'm afraid Smiley winking Its the RSVP perforated bit, how did you do that? I couldn't find any perforated card on the PDA card website, did you do that yourself? If so how?

No problem, I don't mind helping fellow hitchers ? I just bought a mini rotary perforator from eBay, it took a bit of practice to get the perforated line to go straight though!

PS: If anyone is thinking of making the same invites as mine, please let me know as I have a few spare bits.

I'm kinda missing being all crafty though, so I was thinking of doing a one off commission if anyone is interested ?
