I tend not to use the dictionary anymore. If I need a word looked up I'd go to Word/Internet first [:I]

I have just looked up the word 'normarily' as my Dad had an argument with someone at work about whether this was a real word.
I cant find it in any dictionary but comes up on google a few times, so I'm none the wiser!

Yacht...a girl in my class wanted to know how to spell it and I couldn't remember! That's generally when I use a dictionary now...modelling to the children how to look up a word they're not sure about.

I looked up 'separate' as I don't really understand the difference between this word and 'seperate' - I get confused as to the correct spelling. Unfortunately, the dictionary I used only had one spelling so I am still unsure if there are two spellings or not [:I]

I bet I sound really thick now ?

"Seperate" isn't a word. The way I was taught to remember the correct spellingis that the two "a"s separate the two "e"s.

"Potto" - we were playing a word game where you have to think of various categories beginning with a certain letter. The letter was P and my animal was Potto. No one would believe it was a real animal so I looked it up (and then sang the "I was right" song loudly!)

Incunable. I know what it means (used to refer to a book printed before the rather arbitrary cut-off of 1500), but H asked why that word in particular and I wanted to check the etymology.

I quite often use an online thesaurus for work when writing copy, to find that word you're thinking of, on the tip of your tongue...

Last word was 'favours'. I should have just looked on planning really ?
