Corsett

I read about a woman that had done this. It took her years using a corset to slowly pull her waist in until it was stupidly small.

I don't think that it looks particulary nice. There is having a tiny waist, and then there's taking it to the extreme.

Honestly, that makes me feel a bit ill.

Just makes her hips and arse look massive ?

Genuinely feel ill after seeing those pictures. It's not right. I know then when my mum was a teenager, she had a boyfriend that could put his hands round her waist and his fingers would touch both sides, but she was teeny tiny all round, not just her waist.

This looks totally out of proportion!

My H2B once said this about me! Well, actually he phrased it that I was slightly 'duck-shaped'! My waist is 25" and my hips 37".

But I don't look deformed like her - just 'ducky'.

We watched the video yesterday. It's terrifying and not at all attractive. It looks a bit like she's missing ribs.

When I was at my skinniest all I ate was crisps and chocolate ohhh and chips. Very little else, I weighed about 6.5 stone then, since I started liking food and eating a healthy balance diet Ive put on 5stone. ...now trying to lose a stone of it!

Dita Von Teese claims to naturally have a 21 inch waist which she shrinks to 16 with a corset. Madness if true!

I didn't say that you did! I was merely comparing her to the original one!

If you Xray someone who has been corset training for years you can see that their kidneys, bowel, liver, lungs, pancreas and even their heart are deformed. I like the curves that corsets create but I don't like the artificial figures created by waist training. I don't know how ladies put up with it when corsets were fashionable!

I am a regular corset wearer, and I can take 6-10 inches off my waist - depends on the corset, who laces me in, what I've eaten etc. But when you start with a waist over 40" it's not that hard. But I only wear a corset for 4-5 hours once or twice a month or an hour for a photo shoot. The longest I've worn a corset for was my wedding day - 15 hours - and I ended up with aching kidneys and bruised ribs.

I tend to avoid too many 'hold it all in and push 'em up' bits of underwear. I have visions of Mr Cricks undressing me and the bits of my body being held in exploding out over the poor boy!

I'm sure I read years ago that that Cathy lady can't take her corset off unless she's lying down because her lower back muscles have atrophied so badly that they can no longer support the weight of her upper body and she risks topping over and breaking her spine.

EF, you didn't look anything like those ladies!

I think the major difference between Dita von Teese and the lady in the OP is that Dita actually looks really sexy with her corsets. The other lady just looks really uncomfortable, like she's taken it a step too far.

I may be slightly biased though as I have a total girl crush on Dita von Teese!

I think DVT looks better without her corset than with it (in a non pervy way!)

Corsets normally look good but making your waist abnormally small looks wrong

Maybe I should try one though... ?
