Venue styling

Rahman, 4 April, 2022 at 16:23 Posted on Planning 0 7
We have our ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception in the same room but out budget is getting tight now and have seen that hiring a venue stylist is £300+!!
Has anyone here dressed their venue themselves? Or do you think it’s worth going over budget for as to not have to deal with the extra stress on the big day?

We have not done anything much with decor as or venue provide linens and the we have just done candleabras with coloured candles as centre pieces. Is up to you, personally I don't think people would worry about the decor, the wedding is about celebrating your love for eachother. I can honest say I can't remember any from the weddings I have been to, but is really down to what you want and can afford. See if you can DIY some bits and if you think you can then do it yourself.

Have you asked your venue if they would dress it? We’re supplying the items, but the venue will dress it on the morning. We are only doing the tables though. As Charlotte said, as beautiful as any dressing may look, no one will remember it!

We are completely DIY with a hired hall. We're fortunate that we were able to extend the hire to the night before for only £90 so myself, his step mum, aunt & my adult children will be decorating it all ourselves. I'm just going to do as I'm told, I have no idea what the decor will be as his stepmum is totally in charge. She's been an absolute angel taking so much stress off my shoulders.

At your venue is it possible to have enough time ahead to take the stress out of having to dress it last minute before the ceremony or enough willing helpers to do it while you get ready?

I'm trying to find a venue stylist with prices and it's virtually impossible! Why can't they just have a price list instead of being so cagey about it!!

This is exactly why I hired a venue that allows 3 day hire so we can spend the whole day before dressing the venue. If I was you I would spend the extra now to save the stress on the day
