Hi everyone, hope all upcoming brides are well and excited! Just wanted to share that we got married on 27 June with 28 guests at our gorgeous venue. The rain held off so we were able to have our drinks reception outside, which was easily one of my favourite parts of the day - watching everyone mingling about, drinks in hand, playing mini golf with our musician playing in the background.
I also hope to be able to provide some reassurance to any brides out there worried about having a scaled down wedding without all the normal bits of a wedding you might have planned on, such as dancing or the evening party. We didn't have these, and there were times over the last few months I was worried that people would be bored and that we'd need to provide some other form of entertainment in the evening. In the end, we decided to just let the evening flow and we had so many comments from guests saying that had an amazing evening just drinking and chatting with people, enjoying our playlist through the venue's speakers, toasting marshmallows by the firepit and waving some sparklers around - basically just enjoying a wedding after the last year. It was perfect.
Try not to stress too much about your day not being quite the one you maybe originally planned - it's still going to be the best day of your life!
