My worst nightmare came true yesterday, id gone with my bridesmaids for their final fitting. when we arrived at the shop the shopkeeper asked if we would mind waiting as the last fitting had ran over. we were fine about it and waited in front of the shop. i have aslo bought my wedding dress from the same place and was aware that the dress was hanging just behind my friends. me and my mum had decided to keep the dress a secret until the big day. my bridesmaid started to flick through the dresses one by one commenting on various parts of each dress. og i like that or oh that flower is nice, mostly positive. im not a good secret keep and was worried if she picked my dress out my face would give it away. i turned around to say would she mind not commenting as it she picked mine out i wouldnt be able to keep my face straight and the secret would be out. she kept quiet but continued to flick through the dresses. i was facing the other way so couldnt really see what was going on. what happened next coulnt have been any worse, i overheard her say well at least i know you wouldnt pick anything like THAT! and started to laugh, as i turned around i nearly dropped dead as i discovered it was the dress i had chosen!! i was devostated, i didnt say anything for a second becuase i couldnt quite believe what had happened. she continued to call the dress frumpy etc until i had no choice but to step in and say it was my dress for fear the calling of it would continue. obviosuly she was so shocked she didnt know what to say. i burst into tears and sat through the whole fittings absolutely devostated. i arrived home in a state of shock and thr lady from the dress shop rang to colsole me. she said she hadnt come across anything like this in 35 years.

My bridesmaid has since contacted me to apologise for the incident, but in my opinion the damage is done and nothing can be said to make me feel better about it.

i loved my dress before yeaterday and now i am worried everyone will think its horrible, i get married in twe days!

My mum is so upset shes offered to buy me a new dress, she spoke to the shop keeper who said i could go in on wednesday and pick any dress of the rail and she would fit it for me for the wedding if thats what i want. i love my dress but also want to feel confident in my choice on the dress too, do you think i should stick with the original??

I think it's beautiful! Not everyone will like your dress unfortunately all that matters is you love it! The lady in the dress shop was telling me how her husband seen her dress at a wedding fair and said how awful it was she was very upset but didn't have a choice. On they day he said how beautiful she looked!

I can't believe your BM done that!! She should of realised that it could have been your dress!!

I'd completely go for it - you like it and your Mum would have been honest with you if she thought it didn't look right.

If you are still feeling in two minds about it - why not take the lady up on her offer of having a look at another dress? Then you can make absolutely sure that you love your dress to bits and you don't need another.

I bet you look amazing!! Wish you all the best for your wedding day - you're going to look stunning Smiley smile

Good grief that's a gorgeous dress! (and I'm fussy with wedding dresses!) No offence to your BM but she thinks that's FRUMPY? Where does she shop, the red light district?! That's an incredibly classy dress.

I have to agree with the others, it is beautiful and very elegant. Some dresses just do not have hanger appeal but are amazing when you put them on. Dont take any notice of your BM, im sure you will look simply stunning.

I truly hope you keep the dress, it is lovely and as others have said she only saw it on a hanger with out hair, jewellery etc to complete the look. Have a fantastic day I am sure your groom will fall in love with you all over again!
