Wedding Shoes

Sarah, 17 October, 2022 at 16:08 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 9

I have a lovely pair of white shoes with the perfect size heel (it's tiny) and ankle strap. I go out literally once a year for a posh meal with my partner and would not wear anything like these shoes otherwise (I'm a runner and prefer trainers or winter boots)

The shoes have been worn once to a friends wedding reception (evening only) they are so comfy to wear for hours at a time so I would like to use them as my wedding shoes, also to help with the wedding budget.

I have been invited to attend another friends wedding reception (evening only) and these shoes are the only dressy shoes I own so I thought about wearing them again.... some people have said I can't then wear them to my wedding.... thing is no one will even see my shoes under my huge wedding dress so does it really matter?

All I care about is being comfy on my wedding day as it's a long day and being able to dance in them but also with the cost of living currently I don't really want to buy another pair of heels for literally one night for another persons wedding.

Thoughts?

Igor what people say of course you can wear them on your wedding day. I spend a lot of time with my couples and many of my brides complain about their shoes hurting and a high proportion do not last for the first dance and are changed for something else. As you say they they will not be seen anyway at leat with most dresses.

Many of my brides tell me that they have been wearing their shoes around the house whenever they can in an effort to break them in so they do not hurt on the day. I usually do a shot of the shoes during bridal prep and quite often notice that the soles have been well scuffed so clearly been worn before.

Go ahead and were them and be comfy.

Not everything for a wedding has to be new. They are comfy, work with your dress and you already own them so they sound like the perfect shoes to me.

I’d wear them again! No one will be looking at your shoes and if they are comfortable I’d wear them
