Anything remotely linked to Disney/Winnie the Pooh etc UNLESS there is a small child involved. We are not little fairy princesses, we are modern and mature women
I have a rule that if my 4 year old flowergirls couldn't wear a vest under their dress it wasn't right and revealed too much - same for shoes, no heels on my babies please!!
My (Indian) grandma said to me, "Oh by the way, I have lots of the food trays, if you need some extra for the wedding let me know..."
NOOOOOOOOOO! Much as I love her, and much as I can appreciate that they might be necessary for the typical Indian wedding with 1000 guests, NOT AT MY WEDDING BLEURGH BLEURGH BLEURGH! They will not go with the beautiful, beautiful venue!
Also this. It was one of the few things I have really really insisted on. I don't care if the caterers normally do Indian buffets. WE ARE HAVING A SIT-DOWN MEAL. It's only 200 people and they are used to doing up to thousands so I'm sure they can bloody well cope.
This is the reason i love this forum, i love knowing how individual each bride is! i think the general concensus ladies is that ensure you and your OH are happy as some guests wont like some but love other ideas!
I have to say i dont like balloons, chocolate fountains, artifical flowers, Drunk Guests!
OH has a passionate hate for hats!
Guests who look like they dont want to be there!! if you dont want to dont come!!!!
Oh and DJ's who think they are the life and soul and want to have a say in every song (think Peter Kay sketch!!!!)
As well as balloons (especially those huge ones with the names and date on them) and chocolate fountains, I couldn't get married in a church (even though church weddings are nice, I think unless you follow Christianity, it's a bit fake and pointless?!), I don't like long bridesmaid dresses, I don't like satin wedding dresses, frock coats on groomsmen, pageboys dressed as sailors (wtf is that about?), karaoke (i'll keep that for the hen party), fancy dress weddings, hundreds of rugrats running round... NO THANKS!!! I will think of more no doubt.
Chocolate fountains (more the taste than the principle, do you know they're often diluted with oil to keep it flowing?!)
Controversially, a misspent budget (just my opinion, but I think money should be spent on your guests having a good time over things like a stretch hummer)
Stretch Hummers
I am so going to try to get my 25 year old brother dressed as a sailor though! He'd hate me forever...
Im laughing - Im havin two 'things' at my wedding that have been mentioned a couple of times on this tread!! I love all my 'things'! ?
I hate:
Revealing clothes - on bridal party or guests
I hate brides with their boobs hanging out or brides who are constantly re-arranging themselves in their strapless gowns (I know properly fitted they wouldnt have to 'hoik' at their dresses')
short bridesmaid dresses - too 'guest like' for me
mother of the brides / grooms / guests who dress way too young - boke
bright coloured make up on brides / bridesmaids - natural please!
ice sculptures - they freak me out
crappy coloured chairs - use chair covers!
overly drunk people - no slurring speeches please!
feathers
artificial flowers
people who come to the church to see the wedding & then go in for the ceremony - If i wanted you there I would have invited you!
rowdy children (not children in general rowdy / mischeviousness ones - my little cousin stepped on a brides train & ripped her dress at the evening do - I have been mentally scarred
People there that your parents have invited and you dont know (and give you horrific slobbery kisses! lol)
wedding packages - every wedding should be different (i saw an all in one £2000 package the other day advertised and i was like why, why, why would anyone go for that?? theres no individuality!)
