I like the shania twain song as well. i dont know what i want to walk down the aisle to - i like It had to be you by Hary Connick Jnr , and i love Elvis Love me tender but im not sure either of those suit. x
I love Elvis and my H2B is the ultimate fan - i have told him that my entrance song will be a surprize for him as i want to make a statement to everyone about how i feel lol.
I thought it would be nice that would mean something to both of us and is also a song that isnt used all the time - the only thing that puts me off slightly is that it is played in the film when elvis is dead!!
We're having Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring by Bach, we were going to have Canon in D as I really wanted it, but the church has quite a short aisle so the vicar talked us out of it.
The words to Shania are very appropriate.
What are you having Lyni, and as a fellow bride this weekend, how are you doing, are you organised and relaxed?
We are having Gabriels Oboe.........there are so many songs I like and have to pick some waiting music/sisning reg music and more music to walk out to so adding the others in there.
This is the only classical type peice we are having the rest are all songs so I'm hoping it will put more emphasis on my entrance?.
Hi ladies we had a civil ceremony in august and i walked into Nora Jones "Come Away With Me" its so beautiful had it picked right from the start all the guests loved said it was so different...hth
Will deff be having Moon River as one of the songs while folks are waiting for me to arrive.......love it! SG have you heard the Andrea Ross version think it is great.
Bagpipes! Although haven't decided on a tune yet. KEG, think that sounds fantastic, I love the blowers daughter and the fact that your h2b will have recorded it will make it so much more special
I am walking down the (church) aisle to The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
We wanted to walk back down the aisle to Widor's Toccata, but our organist can't play it said it wouldn't work on the church organ. Part of me would like to walk back down the aisle to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTeGwNHEEFk&feature=related
We won't decide until we have our rehearsal next week, so there's time to persuade h2b....
Nutsy40/KEG - thanks, I kind of want it because when I first started going out with H2B, there was that SATC episode where big moves to LA and it made me cry. One night H2B disappeared for AGES and then made me go up to his room (was at uni...) and he'd lit candles everywhere and made me sit on the sofa and then played moon river on the CD player for me - he'd gone out speshly to buy it....
Or maybe I would have Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It can only be something short as am having civil ceremony and not far to walk. I don't really like classical music either.
My h2b loves the Israel K (can't remember the rest of the guy's name!) version of this. Think we may have it when we are signing the register. He also likes 'heartbeats' by Jose Gonzalez
That's so funny, those are my other two possibles - you mean this version, Ilove both those songs. Am also thinking maybe The Blowers Daughter but so far Moon River is a winner because it means something to us too. Just gotta hope I don't cry
Sg45, Chasing Cars is kind of 'our' song so that has been the front runner so far, although I'm currently thinking it might just be too slow IYKWIM? Another that I've been thinking of - although haven't run it past h2b yet!- is My baby just cares for me Nina Simone, we (or maybe I) sing along to that at home sometimes, think that could be a good one. What about you?
I love chasing cars, its so lovely! Do you know why its called that? I heard that when the lead singer of SP was a teenager and he was in love with some lovely young lady, his dad said he had about as much chance of getting her as a dog does, Chasing a Car....! Don't know if thats true, heard it on the radio.
Nina Simone is fab - and its a nice upbeat song - and a bit different!
Well, we were going to have Moon River but now I'm planning on walking down the aisle to that. I was thinking of maybe Stand By Me, Ben E King as thats a nice oldie one but not too cheesy. Or Better Together, Jack Johnson or Wonderwall, Oasis. Hmmmmm
The thing I find with weddings is that it involved a lot of decision making! Remind me when you get married...
