Watching a recent catwalk show of bridalwear dresses, I remain amazed that bridalwear designers are still using size zero models to show their dresses. And when you do see a slightly fuller model the dress looks every bit as good. So at hitched.co.uk, we wondered; "In the UK at the moment, what is the average size of a bride?" This is an annonomous poll so you can be totally honest. And if you are already married, you can still answer, just tell us historically!

This, I agree with, my son is 6'2 and weighs about 8 stone ish and is very slim. When we went to get him measured up for his school prom the staff in Greenwoods were very rude saying things like, wow arent you skinny... well, I hit the roof! I actually said to the manager, who is bald... so would it be ok to come into your shop and say hey baldy? He looked pretty sheepish after that and quite right too!

There is no need to be rude whether you are overweight or indeed underweight, so to some people who have messaged no here no its not ok to slate the size 0's or the skinny people as you dont know the reasoning behind it, as AJ rightly said.

My son eats like a horse, you just cant stop him eating! However, he obviously has a very fast metabolism,, like me and struggles to put weight on!

As I said before, the facts here are irrelevant. It is perception, people perceive there to be no size 4s and lots of size 18s, therefore they discuss accordingly. I am not saying that they are correct, but explaining why people say size 4 is unattractive but not size 18.

I dont see how the facts here are irrelevant. Were obviously never going to agree on this. Im just making the point that size 4's do exist, lots of them, and they are not all being sick down the toilet. Its not how i would want to look personally however im not going to make a point that 'size zero is unattractive' as this is just as bad as saying 'size 20 is unattractive'.

Some size 20's are very healthy and look good at this size however some are unhealthy, same with the size zero's some are obviously starving themselves to be like that but others are'nt. Just because there arn't as many size zeros as 20's on here doesnt mean we can slate them.

I don't think that you understand what I am saying. I am not disagreeing with you on anything.

I have NOT at ANY point said that it is OK to slate any size. Whether I agree that size 4 or 18 is healthy is beside the point.

For the 100th time, all I have said is that the reason people slate small sizes is because they think that no-one on the website is size 4 and therefore will not be offended. I am not saying that there are no size 4s, I think I made this clear in all of my posts.

I do understand what your saying, correct me if im wrong you said:

'To get to size 0 (unless any of you here know otherwise) one would have to be dieting when no necessary (i.e. someone who is an 8/10 on a diet) and therefore becoming malnourished.'

Im trying to make the point that for many woman this is not the case, just wanted to give my opinion, didn't want to make an argument! ?

I did say that, but I said "unless any of you on here know otherwise", to which you replied that you did, so I didn't mention it again. Everything else I have written has been about other people's perceptions, which you have taken to mean that I think that all size 0 people are ill.

    Honestly! ?

Are we (all of us not just you) forgetting that Size 0 is an american term, and Americans make their clothes big!! (well look at the population!) I lived there for years. Here I am an 8 (well almost a 10 at moment) there I was ALWAYS a 4.. if not a 2.. therefore a ZERO is a UK 6..
