When do you get the wedding certificate

Steve, 16 March, 2021 at 10:13 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi all,

I'm due to get married in September in a church, and wondered when you actually get a physical wedding certificate. I ask because we are hoping to go to Marrakech a few days after the wedding and need it to prove we are married so we can stay in the same room legally.

Thanks!

I don’t know about from a church service, but with a civil ceremony with a registrar you get the certificate on the day. Then if you have ordered copies they will be sent by post, our 2nd one came within a week.
I’m guessing your vicar/minister should be able to confirm this for you

Yep you get it in the Church, you sign the register and whilst you are perhaps a having a "signing the register" photo the vicar/priest puts the finishing touches to the actual certificate, usually date and their own signature and then will give it to you so you walk out of the church with it.
