Other: We will have been together 5 years on the 24th of this month and OH is taking me to Lanzarote for a week as it's the last one before we get married!!!!!!

ETA, Proposal: He took me to Majorca for my birthday last year (he's nice like that) and every evening we would go for a walk on the beach. Then the day after my birthday he seemed a bit anxious to go for a walk which I thought was odd as one of the football matches he wanted to watch was on... as we were walking he asked for a hug then got down on one knee with the ring and a speech and everything! Then the football finished, Spain had beaten Greece and were through to the Euro finals so there were hundreds of fireworks going off and impromptu parties! He said he'd chickened out on my actual birthday but that was soo romantic ?

We were snow boarding in Andorra and I was waiting for OH at the bottom of the slop. As he was coming towards me, he bent down to undo one of his bindings (whilst still moving at some speed) and stopped in from of me on one knee. He told me how much he loved me and that how he knew from the start that we would be together always! Then he asked if I would do the honour of becoming his wife, at which point I burst in to tears and screamed yes and went to give him a hug and ended up pushing him over!!!!

I'm getting married on 8-9-10 We didn't even realise at the time of booking! We just picked Wednesday as it seemed the best days for flights (Getting married abroad so had to plan these things!). My bridesmaid pointed this out after we told her. So stupid!

Other: We booked to go to Hawaii together having only met eachother twice! We had a long distance relationship for almost a year before I uprooted to Reading to be with him.

Proposal Story: (Aug 2009) It was 1 week before we went to Bali and we'd planned to eat out. I met him at the station and he said he wanted to walk back into town via the park gardens (which was slightly odd but his reasoning that he'd been stuck in a dark office in London was plausable enough for me!). When we got into the park he pulled out the rock and asked me! I was very shocked - even after 7 years and 8 months of waiting!! ?

Myself and OH have been together a week less then you then as its our 5 years next Thursday!

How you met OH: (No doubt a very dumb q but what does the O stand for in OH???) Set up by one of my soon to be brides maids.

Proposal: We had already had an engagement ring made so was half expecting it although he said I might not actualy get it for ages but said to the shop he needed it by saturday? (Our anniversary) Big clue. Then threw me off scent by pretending he'd left it somewhere safe while we went to dinner...oops getting ahead of lyself...let me set the scene. We were in Fethiye in Turkey on holiday and he took me to swim with dolphins the morning of our anniversary. Then we were walking along the harbour and surprised me by taking me on to this lovely boat. He'd hired a yacht for a midnight sail, just the two of us! We had a candle lit feast (realy was food and fruit enough for 10 and so tasty and with flowers everywhere) watched the sunset and when sailing near the coast every ones smiling faces! the bad thing was I was thinking how is he ever going to top this for the proposal? lol Then while we sat and enjoyed the sight of the harbour all light up and heard soft waves crashing against the coast he took out the ring box from where he had hid it and went down on one knee....the most single romantic day of my life! I hope my description did it justice. I am the luckiest girl in the world

OMG you could be me, I am also from Manchester have picked the date (not the exact one - Summer 2011) and think we have decided on the venue (Etrop Grange) will be booking this soon and am waiting on my ring (which I think will come at Christmas as he got me to pick it ages ago) so are not officially engaged yet so cannot talk about this with anyone except my OH :-( oh and my friend in work as I had to tell somebody!! but don't want to tell anyone else until I am officially engaged :-( its killing me as I am so excited....

Other: I married a man with the same surname as my mother. Its confused many.

I didn't do the flowers though Nona! I was a secretary in those days! I was really pleased with my flowers - they were a mix of fresh roses in varying shades of pink with artificial lily of the valley included. We couldn't afford real lily of the valley but I was desperate to have them as they are my favourite flowers.

There he was, shaking like a leaf, muttering something incoherent (along the lines of 'You're really fab' or so I've since been told). He was also wearing his tuxedo (that I swear he hadn't been wearing 5 minutes earlier). As he got down on one knee, fireworks flew overhead (he'd cleverly planted our friend in next door's garden) covering us in bits of shrapnel.... So, of course, I could hardly say no. Still I have to give it to him - 7 years on and he's still an old romantic at heart. ❤️
