My venue! Sorry if it comes out really huge! Several reasons why we chose this venue... amazing wow factor and completely fell in love with it...practical because it has onsite accomodation for us and immediate family...plus it has a church on the grounds so we can have it all in one place whilst still having a church service...

This was ours... Mr C's childhood church and a local hotel with plenty of accomodation...

This is ours - the barn at the Fleece Inn, Bretforton. We're marrying at a beach chapel on Zanzibar (no pics sorry) and this is our UK reception venue. Chosen because we want fun country style with a ceilidh. I did the whole manor house thing first time round, so this time wanted something completely different!

This is our reception venue after the ceremony at my family church. We knew we didn't want a hotel. I like the barn look but don't have any barns close to the church. This is an old cotton mill and i LOVE it!!

Ceremony will be here. We picked it because we wanted a beach wedding that was private. We have hired the island just for us and our guests.

wow that is big !! sorry.

And we picked here for our reception as we love the views!

We chose ours because I've been to wedding there before that was fab. It's within a reasonable drive for most of our family. There are no rooms but there are two hotels within 5 minutes.

We chose our venue based on the fact OH didn't want a hotel, we wanted an English Manor type venue as it would be lovely for our overseas guests to enjoy that type of venue and also accomodation for everyone who requires it at the venue. We also didn't want people roaming around who weren't wedding guests so exclusivity was essential.

The wedding and drinks reception is in the main house and grounds and the meal and evening reception is in the modern wing attached to the house so best of both worlds.

Haven't set a date yet, but we've fairly much decided that this will be our venue: SS Great Britain in Bristol. We picked it because we had one of our early (and most memorable) dates here when we were in a long-distance relationship, and now we live together in the city & love being here. To us, the ship feels like a real Bristol icon. It was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and we're both grandchildren of engineers, it seemed a fitting tribute to my Grandad and his Grandpa who probably won't be able to make it on the day due to ill health. Also - it's a ship! (And why yes, that does mean that we'll be inviting our younger guests to come along in pirate costumes...)

Those are boats on the outside walls.

Here was ours - it was local to us, had accommodation and we could have both the ceremony and reception there. Yes, but lots of venues can do that, I hear you say?!

In addition, we met because of Portsmouth football club and this venue, while being in Surrey, has a connection to Lord Admiral Nelson and his rendezvous with Emma Hamilton. Slightly selfishly there were also lots of things likes one of the rooms and one of the wedding packages called "Emma" which is perfect for a Portsmouth supporting girl called Emma! ha ha :o)

Mrs C - that church is absolutely stunning! I love a good church Smiley smile

Here's ours, it's a hotel about half an hour away from us, at Loch Lomond. We chose it for the view, more than anything!! The reception room has one big long glass wall and the doors open out onto a terrace which we have exclusive use of. After that, it was "where do we sign?"! (although admittedly we haven't actually signed yet......6 more weeks to hang on!). And their wedding co-ordinator was by far the most helpful we encountered.

We choose ours when our original venue decided to start building works in the next year and we could not be sure what state it was in! This is our new venue and we actually love it more! its old yest not dark. I fell in love with the staircase all done with swags and fairylights! The pictures dont do it justice and the church as the vicar is lovely and the origional organ is beautiful!

Here's some pictures of ours. We don't have any of the room set up for the wedding breakfast unfortunately. We chose it as the wedding co-ordinator seemed so much better than any others we met and we fell in love with the outside so we're keeping our fingers crossed for a sunny day. We love the inside too and although I always thought I would get married in a big country house, we a) couldn't find one in budget and b) none actually felt right. Sorry if the pictures are huge!

    Some amazing venues!

We chose a 17th Century Manor for ours which has a church on the grounds (We're having civil ceremony though). No hotel attached but a small cottage within the grounds for us to stay in. It's not far for guests to travel either, about 20 minutes.

No, it's Cheshire, getting married out of the city I think has caused a few to raise their eyebrows (I'm a big advocate for the city, am a tour guide and am a big liverpool history geek!) think people were very shocked when they found out we weren't getting married in the city! But you know when somewhere just feels... Right!,

The Castle of Mey, the Caithness home of the late Queen Mother, now its run by a trust and Prince Charles is the patron and comes up with Camillia and stays for a week every summer. I like to think this means I'm getting married in a real royal residence...

Yes I know exactly what you mean ?

I love your venue. I'm desperate to find a nice venue that is dry hire so we can do our own bar and food but having no luck in and around Liverpool so far.
