I have noticed recently, that when I read posts (especially from more established Hitchers), I put a voice and accent to what they write! So spill...... I have a classy Wolverhampton accent, though it is not strong and I do not speak the dialect. Some of you may call it a 'Brummy'accent (which it is...

I have a classy Wolverhampton accent, though it is not strong and I do not speak the dialect. Some of you may call it a 'Brummy'accent (which it is not!).

I don't have an accent at all, is boring.

I just imagine you all to speak the way I do, which obviously you don't, so if I ever did meet any of you I think it would be a shock to hear you talk.

I have a mild Lancashire Accent. H has a South Wales accent which he can 'switch off' (when we holiday in Wales his accent comes back - up here he talks Northern).

I bet you do, you just don't notice it because it's not as pronounced as those of the people you're surrounded by. Everyone has an accent - favourite word to demonstrate it is the word drawer - do you say draw, drawer, dror or drawah? Even RP is a form of English accent, it's just not region specific.

I have what's probably a mixed Glasgow accent - predominantly Lanarkshire, though now picking up a bit of Renfrewshire with an occassional lapse into Edinburgh.

Queen's English/RP English - I do have a posh accent, and it is a bit "plummy", but I don't think it's "posh" posh.

I don't think I have an accent, just RP with a bit of London. I sound more Lahhndahn when I am upset, stressed or excited.

Oh I enjoyed that video Panj. I'm from Crewe originally (not far from Stoke at all) and used to go shopping in Hanley and under 18's at Liquid ?

Now I'm living in South Wales everybody takes the p*ss out of my accent. Mainly H. They all think I'm really northern but I don't think I am! I used to go to college in Manchester and I sounded almost posh whilst there ?

I was born in Coventry but we moved to Milton Keynes when I was 5, so I have an MK accent, which, due to the fact that MK is a London overspill town, is a Londonish accent but apparently also has an Australian twang on certain words ! Whenever I travel anywhere, people from the UK always assumes I am a Londoner, and foreigners think I am Australian !

I definitely say barth and larf, but would never say barf ! My MIL is a cockney, as are most of my best friends parents so H and them have a much stronger London twang than I do and I definitely find myself speaking a bit more cockney when we are all in a group or if I have had a drink !

SQUEEKY?!?! I'm not quite sure how to take that HT, you're in danger of no longer being my fav..

No Chids not from Manchester, bit further east than that. I think I have quite a northen, yorkshire type accent. I think it's quite a common, rough accent.
