I do, mainly in a support group for a sitch I'm in which is quite difficult. I'm also a member of two well-known parenting forums (despite having no kids.....)

I have recently joined a forum for a course I have started. There has been about 5 posts on it in the last week

Hope the course is more exciting than the people on it

Didn't know you were a musician Mel!

I'm on a doctors forum and one other. Struggle to find time for all 3 tbh.

Only OU forums but tbh I tend to peak when I start a course and the filter off as I get into it a bit more, sometimes the discussions can create more questions than answers and it makes life easier to not get involved!

Yup, piano and bass guitar. Have been in two bands, one as a keyboard player and one as a bassist. Had to give up gigging after a car accident which left me unable to lift my bass and haven't joined another band since I got better, mainly due to confidence issues as I wasn't able to play for two and a half years and I don't think I'm as good as I used to be!

I use 4 other forums, which all relate to my hobbies. This is the only 'general' forum that I use.

I use a cake decorating forum which I'm 99% sure another Hitcher uses. I rarely post though, much the same as here.

How cool. My musical endeavours are embarassingly amateur these days (used to be semi-decent classical violinist, harpist and singer) but obviously I'm surrounded by lots of musos because of H. Did you ever think about doing it professionally?

Yes - I use Dogsey.com to talk about all things dog. I use Silkysteps when I am studying and I have used a camping one in the past. It sounds like I don't have a life outside the house ?

I use the TES forums, Diabetes Daily, UK Campsites, and am investigating Facebook groups but so far have not found any very meaningful discussion forums there.

For a while, in my early twenties. Then the real world hit! ? The chances of getting signed, however good you are, are pretty slim.

I use makeupadviceforum but that's it other than here. Still get emails from a lot of places I read when I was planning my wedding though, despite them having my wedding date as part of the registration...

I read that and thought 'why would anyone go on a forum and give made up advice - and if they knew it was made up why would anyone read it!' thinking it was a spoof site. Then googled and oh - you meant advice for make-up!

Mel: which music forums do you go go on, if you don't mind me asking. I'm an orchestral musician - would either of those forums be good for that kind of interest?

My forum history changes depending on which of my ever cycling set of hobbies I'm 'into' at the time.

I used to spend a lot of time on DPForum (digital photography) and was a fairly well known poster in their Canon forum.

I used to be a member of a jewellery making forum.

I'm now a member of a couple of 'ning' groups for online art courses - Suzi Blu, Willowing, etc.

Many moons ago I used to be a member of a chicken keepers forum...that didn't last long.

So no, Hitched is the only forum I use.

Though if it's quiet on here I have been known to trot over to confetti for a giggle, but I'm not actually a member over there.

And me every now and then! Smiley smile

I also use an ice hockey forum and every now and then I venture into other forums on the bbc and parenting ones but I never usually stay long. I love it here and the way this community has changed me and helped me grow and see life differently (my god that sounds so slushy - bleugh). I do get frustrated at the slowness and I do miss the odd troll and 'hitched ***'ing sessions. I love the no-nonsense nature here. lol

Edited as I can't use the quote feature properly. lol

What do you play? If it's woodwind or brass this one might suit you.

I used to be an active member of a horse forum (which is actually where I first heard about hitched - the infamous towel thread). After I sold my horse I run out of things to add, I lurked on there a bit but no-one I 'knew' is left there now and haven't been on there for months.

I lurk on YAYW occasionally when WP is quiet.

Unique - which one? I'm a Steelers fan and other than Hitched, I lurk on SteelTalk and the Cage. I'm registered on THF too but never tend to go over there. I also use the TES Business forum.

Oh Emma, the Squealers? ? Never mind, we all have our cross to bear in life. ?

I go on THF. I am a Flames fan but haven't been in about a year as I moved to Kent so can't afford the petrol as well as the tickets every week. Used to be a season ticket holder so do miss it. I usually go on the Lounge and don't go on the main forum as much now as I'm out of the loop. lol. I look on GBSC every now and again too.
