Does my dress go with this bouquet? **Flash**

SouthB2B, 11 February, 2011 at 16:43 Posted on Planning 0 16

My wedding is in a village church, reception in a converted barn. I really love simple, country bouquets and table arrangements. My bridesmaids are in a pastel blue, but for bouquets I was hoping to stick to white / cream flowers and greenery - with blue ribbon wrapped around the stems.

BUT not sure whether the style I want goes with my dress; my dress has quite a lot going on! Do you think these would work together?? If not, I'd love your ideas instead? If you do think it works, what are the flowers in this bouquet?!

Thanks in advance!x

DRESS (obviously still needs alterations, too long and big on the hips / bum!):

BOUQUET (sorry it's small, hope you can get the idea?):

Hehe Snuggle-bum I am useless at this matching thing in general so rest assured most of my wedding won't match! Though knickers, there's a thought...! What I meant was that the styles weren't too different, if you see what I mean?? Thanks ladies for your lovely comments, v reassuring. Does anyone know what the flowers are? (appreciate it's a small pic though so I'm asking a lot!)x

I think they'd complement each other perfectly! Gorgeous dress.

The bouquet looks v pretty, would also be interested to know what the flowers are in it as it looks similar to the kind of thing that I would like for mine (in fact I might even nab that pic for my scrapbook if you don't mind ?)

No doubt they compliment each other! Your dress is beautiful and suits you to a t. The bouquet is also very classy and understated which is exactly why it goes with the dress...xxx

Gorgeous dress and lovely flowers, both elegant and would look lovely together. I'm getting married abroad and am worrying about what I'd end up with! I just want a hand tied posy style bouquet and absolutely no carnations or crysanths - love all other flowers but just not those, might email the hotel in advance to let them know! x

Love your dress and yes, that style of bouquet would compliment it very well. Sorry, it's really difficult to see any of the flowers for me to tell you what they are - any chance you can enlarge it up a bit? For those who were wondering, it's not so much that your flowers should 'match' your dress but that certain styles of bouquets go with certain styles of dresses and/or body shape better than others. For example, sleek, grecian or fishtail style gowns suit minimalistic bouquets whereas full skirted gowns suit more traditional styles. If you are a petite Bride, then a narrow, elongated bouquet adds height to your body shape as this draws the eye down whereas an 'over the arm' bouquet adds width to the centre of the body so makes a petite Bride look smaller. A 6ft tall Bride would similarly look out of proportion with a small, round hand-tied posy. Hope that helps!

Got my glasses on now.... could be chincherinchee, freesia and anenomes? But a very wild guess as it's difficult to tell I'm afraid!

Rainbow florist, I know it's such a small pic isn't it! My mum sent me it so I'm going to see if she remembers where she found it to get a bigger version. Thanks for the bouquet advice also, very useful. Sherrie that bouquet is gorgeous too, thanks for the inspiration.
