Makeup trial **flash** honest opinions please

massuch, 21 June, 2011 at 21:38 Posted on Planning 0 21

Had my makeup trial today. I thought she'd done a fantastic job, really pleased, but when I got home and had a proper good look, the foundation is a bit too orange. Would love to know what everyone else thinks.

You look absolutely beautiful. If you're worried about it looking too orange then have a word with her but from what I can see it looks great.

I think she's done a great job, you look lovely, but we don't know what you usually look like! If you're worried about it just ask her to come down a shade.

Awh, thanks a lot, that's made me feel so good. She did a fab job of covering up my breakouts that I have on my chin. I agree from the photos you can't really notice it but close up it you definately see an orange tint to the colour, maybe because it's a bit thicker than I would normally wear I notice it more plus my skin gets really oily quick. I'll let her know and see what she says, she did say to let her know if there were any problems after I'd had it on for a while and it had settled on my skin.

    Hi there,

Looking at the pics I think you look fab. Remember you will need a little extra makeup for the photo's and also if your not used to wearing loads it will seam a bit weird.

When I had mine my face looked a little "orange" too in person but on camera it looked like I had flawless skin x

P.S I don't think you look too orange either x

It doesn't look orange to me, you look fab.

I had my make up done when I was a BM, I thought the same thing (that I was wearing too much and looked orange) but everyone assured me that I didn't and my OH thought I looked amazing!!

Absolutely - that's what they told my daughter too. You can lose up to 45% of the depth in the colour so need to have more on than normal for it to show. I wore a lot heavier than I normally do and on the photos, it doesn't show (I did my own make up cos I can't stand people coming close to my eyes!) whereas Alex had a make up lady and you can certainly see hers much better.

I don't get the whole 'heavier makeup because you'll be photographed' thing - what about people who will see you in the flesh on the day... erm... like your groom? Surely he'd like to see the real you? I think it's weird to accept wearing heavy makeup just for pics.

OP, I think you look fine, but I'd try a white tee shirt on to check the contrast against white if you're worried.

I don't think you look 'orange' at all. My only thing about it would be that you may need a more matt foundation or more powder.

    You look lovely tho!
