Party or Orient Express...

Doodle, 4 February, 2011 at 11:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

Hi all

I know it’s a subjective thing but your options please:

Coming up next year there are a couple of big events in one month including parental 60th bday and 30th wedding anniversary.

Me and OH were toying with the idea of a big surprise party but are wavering on the idea of a trip on the orient express. I know they will enjoy whatever we do, and having been on the orient express I know its amazing but I have a niggle that it might be a bit of a cop out – what do you think?

Thanks - Doodle

I would go with a party, specially if you'd got a few surprise guests, friends and family they haven't seen for years, best man from the wedding, that sort of thing....

but then i'm not one for travel lol x

We all clubbed together and bought our parents a trip on the Orient Express for their 40th WA - it was from York - Edinburgh and included a visit to the Royal Yacth Britannia. Mum had always wanted to go on the orient express and my dad is ex merchant navy so they both really enjoyed the visit.

Then for their actual anniversary, we will had a small party for them - all family and a few of their close friends.

    They loved all of it.

Certainly for my parents it'd be the orient express - they're not what you'd call party people and while they like being at other people's parties with friends etc they have quite a small circle of friends and family and wouldn't want to be the centre of attention at all.
