Red Wedding Dress

judeclarke, 2 September, 2010 at 13:32 Posted on Planning 0 31

Is anyone else having a red wedding dress/outfit? White/ivory just isn't me I'm afraid.

I thinking of going for this, maybe with an ivory and red emroidered corset:

Spot on! I considered black, but I think the red taffetta shot with black is enough.

My dress first time round was red shot with black. Looks lush when it catches the light.

I think you'll look amazing in that FGM creation.

Ooh MrsSneddon2b that looks fabulous! Are you having the veil with it? I'll be having flowers and feathers in a fascinator.

I'm not too sure yet, think I will definately have the flower, not too sure about the veil though. I have loved it from the moment I found it and I cannot wait to wear it! I love your dress, it will look amazing!!

I love the pewter! My friend got married in a pale beigy-gold called 'latte' and her BM was in a darker shade called 'mocha'. It was loveley!

Any more non-white/ivory Brides out there?

I was originally going for a coloured dress as I didnt think ivory would suit me, but my H2B really wanted me to have a trad dress and once I tried some on realised I liked them! But, I love all your coloured dresses Smiley smile

Go for it! My friend got married in red. Bright red! She said as she already had children she just didn't feel white was right. She had the bridemaids in a muted red. And they all wore a large white lily as well, which really accented the dresses.

That's a lovely dress! Mine is a light gold, so not as colourful but still a bit different. I'm very fair skinned so all the traditional ones made me look washed out. Here it is:

Looks a bit darker in real life.

I did it the other way around - had a green and silver embroidered corset with an ivory satin skirt. Loved it and it meant the ivory wasn't so close to my face that it could wash me out.

Me I am wearing a red dress. I can't wait. It's soooo hard keeping it a secret from everyone though.

Ooh more gorgeous not-white-or-ivory dresses ladies! Aimee, why the secrecy? Or is it just for the surprise value?!!

Everyone expects to see a white or ivory dress so letting them think that and then suprise them on the day. Just added excitment I suppose.

When I posted before I must have forgotten my other reason for not getting married in red, I've been married before and wore red and gold the first time around! I must have blocked it all out hehe! x

I'm wearing pink! Was beginning to think I'd end up with white or ivory and then I found it. OH knows my dress is pink and was really relieved when I didn't give up on it - he said it just wouldn't be me to wear any other colour! Even my engagement ring is two diamonds and a pink sapphire ❤️

I got married in a very similar dress to yours Jude. It had a bright red underskirt and black chiffon over the top and lotsof red and black beading. We got married in Venice and I wanted something unusual for the photos. I am so pleased I did as the photos were amazing!

Not sure if this will work but this is my dress:

Obviously not me - mine is with the alterations lady having the ruching sorted out and length shortened a little..
