Also, as an aside, how do others keep track of whose GL thread they have posted on?

    Lol, bls14, jinx.

I check through the "my discussions" bit on the right hand side of the page to see which threads I have commented on. Bit of a ballache though.

I am friends with most of my date twins so wouldn't have minded if they'd started it.

There is a 'Welcome To Wedding Planning' sticky that covers Good Luck threads, so even though there are no rules people will see that they are usually started by friends or date twins.

Thats actually true AJ I think my previous planned wedding date when I joined under a different username with an ex partner is still on there, even though I emailed a few times asking for the whole account to be deleated.

There are loads of us getting married over the next few weeks!

I had in my mind to start a couple of my date twins' threads. One was already done but I happily started the other as it feels right if that makes sense?

This is why I think that a sub-forum would come in handy, so that everyone knows where the GL threads are and if they are started earlier than normal, they don't get lost in amongst the other posts - especially at this time of year when there are so many threads ?

I think this could be avoided by not starting the GL threads weeks in advance, a week to 10 days prior is plenty of time imo!

    Exactly what I said.

Plus I wouldn't have a clue who's friend is who's on here, having said that I probably wouldn't start any GL threads anyway, don't know people well enough.

I started the majority of August GL threads. I waited until about 1 week before the date of the wedding, and posted in the August brides thread that I was going to start some, hope I wasn't treading on any toes, and by doing that, I would like to think that anyone who specifically wanted to start one for someone else would do it before me.
I guessed that if anyone wanted to start a GL thread for someone in particular, they wouldn't leave it until 1 week before.
I first checked the 2011 wedding list and took the names from that month.
I crossed off those names for people who already had a GL thread started.
For those that were left, I searched to see how many posts that particular B2B had done, agreed some had not done half as many as others, but from my recollection the majority had at least 50 posts. There were some who had only posted less than 10 times, some posts were months ago, nothing recent, so sorry to say I didn't start one for them, not saying they didn't deserve one, but more to the point, I took it that they no longer contributed to the forum, for whatever reason.
I also looked through some of the B2B thread history just in case she had changed her wedding date and the 2011 list hadn't been updated.

I'd like to say that what I did was right, but there's no hard fast rule to it.

How's it pretty obvious? Or is it just cos I'm not on here often enough.
