Depends on how many people you're catering for really. We've got about that and catering for 120.

We've got about 150 to cater for and I've got about 10 big jars and a few smaller ones. Ive gone a bit overboard with the sweets as well...but thought I would keep them nearby and then the sweetie table can be topped up if needed! Ive also got some amazing big Martini glasses which I am filling with sweets. Sweet overload maybe...lol

I agree, you can never have too many sweets ?

I will be selling most of mine after the wedding, so if you hang on you could get a bargain! I've been buying them for about 6 months just as and when I see them.

The only one's I wont be selling are the Martini glasses.

Loads of Hitcher's sell theirs in the For Sale section all the time. Its the sort of thing nobody has space to keep really...

Yeah I have been having a look but I think they are the sort of things that go quick because as you say its not the sort of thing you will use again so people don't want to pay over the odds for them. Will keep an eye out after you wedding then!!

On my last count it was 13 different varieties and I'm thinking of getting Smarties too as they go down well Smiley smile

Our venue is providing a 6ft table and I'm trying to figure what it will all looklike on the day. We are catering for 125 guests and I have no idea if this is enough or enough selection I dont want it to look lonely on the table haha.

    Hi

We are a company called K M Design and we do chocolate buffet tables (we can also do candy buffet tables) you are welcome to have a look at our site www.k-m-design.co.uk under chocolate buffet table it may help you to work out how many jars/containers you may need. The table you see on the website is for approximately 50 guests. If you work on approximately 200grms of sweets per guest you should not go far wrong. The amount of jars/containers you will need will depend on how many different types of sweets you have, we hope this helps.

Wow that is a lot more stuff than I originally thought!! But I suppose I will need at least one of everything and 120 is a lot to feed.

Hmmm will have to do some thinking, thanks for the help x

We had 100 guests and about 15 different jars/bowls. I thought there would be too much but they went down a storm and nearly all went. Whatever was left I asked people with children to take the jars home - we only have about 6 jars left now! Won't let me upload a pic at the moment tho :-( I bought my jars from charity shops and pound shops and disnt pay more than £3 on average.

I did this buffet for a bride last week, she had 150 guests for the evening - I never actually thought of it in terms of jars but I had 10 including 2 cake stands, glass bucket, 2 martini glasses and the rest apothecary/sweet jars. Then theres the wishing well which had coins in and a tray with choc bars. I actually think I did too much as there was lots left over!

I was just going to do our favourite sweets and probably throw some chocolates on their too. All I have thought of so far is flying saucers (my fav) and ferrairo roche (his fav). I'm hoping to go to some sort of wholesalers and see what they have there.

Although after seeing how much is needed it looks like its going to be a lot of faffing around so I might just go with my original plan and get a choc fountain, I'm not sure yet
