Underwear Question for the smaller bride

birdboo, 5 October, 2011 at 18:56 Posted on Planning 0 7

I'm really struggling to find the right underwear that I like and is small enough. I'm a 36A and its near impossible to find something that I know will make me feel good about myself. Most of the bras I've found either look too practical or look like they are for a child. My dress is a 50's halterneck so I need something either strapless or adjustable. I really don't like the feeling of going without a bra and it might get a bit awkward later with the bouncy castle!

Where do other small boobed brides go? I don't really have a budget because I'd rather buy something that makes me feel amazing.

    Hi Birdboo!

I am exactly the same size~ no way I'd go without a bra ever!! I wore a 'B' by Ted Baker strapless bra from Debenhams. It was not that expensive (around £30 I think) and had matching undies too. Was very bridal and very comfy.

I'm 34A and for an adjustable bra I'd recommend the Wonderbra multiway one (sorry can't remember the official name of it). You can attach the straps anywhere along the cups and back strap and also comes with a halterneck strap so would definitely fit under your dress no problem. The cups don't have the usual wonderbra heaps of padding (more like a shallow t-shirt bra) but really hoiks them up and gives them a nice shape.

For strapless I'd recommend the wonderbra ultimate strapless. Similar reasons to above, pushes em up with minimal padding and stays up all day so no hoiking!

Disclaimer: I do not work for wonderbra haha - I have just genuinely found these two bras to be the best for strapless & multiway ?

I'm 34A and my wedding underwear is a slight mixture - Debenhams strapless bra and M&S knickers! But they look like they were designed to go together.

I found I was more limited by the colour (I wanted ivory or nude) than my size. Other possible bras to the one I ended up with were in La Senza and boring BHS.

Oooh, another thought, some of my prettiest everyday bras are from Next, but I'm not sure if they do strapless or "wedding colours".

Hiya, I'm small too (34A). The most comfy, shape-giving bras I own are the £5 ones with detachable straps from Tesco! Not really what I want on my wedding day. The dress shop have said that they can get cups sewn in to the bodice of my dress, and I'm thinking about going down that route so I don't have to bother with a bra. It will also mean it's perfectly fitted, and that the dress can't slip at any point to reveal a bra. Can your dress shop do similar?
