We used an old vintage suitcase which we found in the cellar.

Mine was off ebay too, really nice, think it was about £7 from a seller called 'sparkle boutique'.

I got a sign made for mine on ebay too, personalised, £4 ?

I got the same kind of box as Kharv from Hobbycraft (£6) and then found a place on Ebay who made a card to go on the front.

We're having a birdcage as ours (it was a passing comment about what we could possibly do, said to my Nan. Presto, we had a bird cage the next day!). Will be something like this (ours is taller), but we're going to line it with blue paper and decorate with some shells to keep it in keeping with our theme.

Above is what we had for our abroad wedding. My SIL is a stationery designer so she got the box from her supplier, brought it over flat and added the front which was just card.

For our home reception, don't have a picture but this was my inspiration:

but I used a wooden box rather than a suitcase and stuck some more shells on the inside of the lid (to cover the words "Waitrose Wine"!)

I had a vintage suitcase - the word CARDS is cut from maps of significant places and stuck onto luggage labels.

As we were saving for a house, we used flip-lidded dolls house with a slot in the top for cards. My brother made it for me out of ply wood, but I have seen similar things at The Range & hobbycraft.

I personally wouldnt have anything without a lock or at the very least, a lid & slot. As much as I'd love to trust everyone, you woudnt leave thousands of pound notes sitting in an open basket or suitcase, so why do people leave it there just because its in an envelope & card?

Not only will there be 100 or more guests, there are also bar staff, TOG, VOG, DJ, MC, band, decorators, co-ordinator & whoever else may happen to walk through the venue.

You could always have a wishing well?

    Hi,

You can get them flat packed for about £10 on ebay and then decorate them with ribbon etc to match your colour scheme.
