What way do you use to keep slim?

mrsmrsmrsannajohnson, 18 December, 2012 at 02:37 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 14

I lost almost 20 pounds in a 2~3 months. But I only ate apples, vegetables and milk everyday. (vegetable without oils and salad cream) I heard some of others keep fit by doing exercises, but I do not like it. I am wondering what's you use to keep slim?

    Hi

I have done Paul Mckenna which is following five golden rules and it really does work

    1 eat what you want

2 eat only when you are hungry

3 eat slowly ( i chew each mouthful 20 times)

4 stop when you are full

5 try and leave something on your plate even if its only a mouthful

try it and let me know how you go x

Burn more calories than you take in. That's really the only way to do it. The two best ways to create a calorie deficit is to either eat less or burn more.

Not all calories are equal. Excess protein is urinated out but excess carbs is turned to fat and stored for a rainy day. There are 4 calories per every gram of carbs/protein but 9 for every gram of fat.

The quickest way to really burn off calories is to eat lean meat (i.e. chicken, turkey) with green vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, courgettes. Turnips, swede, potatoes while all being vegetables are all very carby.

As for exercise, while cardio is great and interval training is an extremely efficient way to do cardio, weight training is even better for burning calories. The body burns calories in rebuilding the muscle. In order to burn, you need to be pushing yourself and you will ache but over time (as your body gets used to the movement and exercise) you will ache less. Bets exercises regardless of sex are the bench press, chin ups and squats. If you were to do weights then you could get away with eating as much as 70-100g of carbs a day on the days you weight training and just 25g of carbs on the days you don't. If you did cardio on the other days you would accelerate the weight loss considerably.

I am back on the weight loss regime again and I refuse to deprive myself of all the nice things for the next 7 months but I also have to be realistic and not expect to lose weight when I am drinking gallons of wine and eating a tonne of cheese.

So I cut down on the bad stuff, increase the good stuff and increase my exercise.

I am using my fitness pal to count calories but to be honest I think I would do better without it. I lose weight once by using the method above and since I dont have a massive amount to lose then I think my method will work just fine.

Getting myself to the gym is the hard part but once I am there I actually enjoy it. I am also doing the 30 Day Shred with my OH as my personal trainer, he will stand there and force me to carry on which at the time I hate him for but it will do me some good as I am useless at motivating myself.

Eating apples, vegetables and drinking milk everyday really isnt good for you and will do you no good long term.

A simple grilled chicken or fish will not do you any harm, even new potatoes providing you dont put loads of butter on them.

I've just started "the wedding dress diet" and so far I've lost half a stone in 2 weeks, I'm eating small meals with 100g protein and the rest veg snacking on nuts and seeds - kind of an adapted version of the clean and lean diet. I miss caffeine and sugar and CARBS but no pain no gain, I'm also doing at least 30 mins of exercise a day, David Hayes boxing DVD is amazing, 35lb to go....

I put on a stone after I had my wedding dress fitting (clearly got too comfortable) and so started off my wedding diet by counting calories.. I was eating around 1,000 a day, and I managed to shift 5 lbs in 3 weeks by doing that.

Then I started to panick (as I have my final fitting on Saturday) so I started doing the cabbage soup diet.. it wasn't an amazingly tasty diet, but I did manage to shift a further 4 lbs in a week. I now have 3 days to lose another 3 lbs lol... so currently, I'm just eating fruit and soup until Saturday... fingers crossed... and good luck to everyone who is currently on a wedding diet!!

For staying fit and healthy you just need to do regular exercise and proper diet. Drink as much water and take healthy and regular diet. No matter how late you sleep, wake up early and go for a jog. This keeps you fit and healthy all way.

I've lost just over a stone in a month using Weight Watchers - you can eat what you want but track every meal and their values. It doesn't even feel like I'm on a diet; every week I'm so surprised that I've lost a few more pounds. I also follow exerice videos from youtube which is free. Search for thebeachbodymom her workouts are easy yet effective and it's so much better doing it in the comfort and privacy of your own home unless you feel comfortable going to the gym.

    Hope this helps ?

I've lost 12 pounds in 5 weeks doing the Slimming World Plan. Its all about healthy eating and not dieting, every week I have eaten healthily & then had a treat at the weekend - ie a takeaway or gone out for a meal. I don't like excercise and I eat meals with my family (I have two kids 11 and 6) - we eat spag bol and cottage pie and even steak plus many other traditional family meals. I have 16 more months to lose my weight so slow and steady is the way to go for me!!

I recently hired a personal trainer once a month to help with my weight loss and he told me straight away to quit my spinning. I though spinning was a good way to lose fat but he said all it was doing was building up my thigh muscles (which are not the smallest) making me appear bigger. He said I have 12% body fat so what I need to do is to work on toning the body as oppose to actually losing a lot of weight. Anyone have any advice on how to tone effectively?

I lost 70lbs about 5 years ago and have kept it off doing weigthtwatchers. They offer a really healthy solution to weightloss. In the lead up to my wedding I am just doing a lot of yoga. I like food too much to go on a mad diet and you will always put weight on again if you don't change the way you think about food. I eat healthily and I cook everything from scratch. I indulge in wine and cake every now and again. I find that yoga changes and tones your body in just a few sessions. I do an hour 3 times a week and if I can't make a session I will do it in my living room. It is so easy to fit in. I have lost my muffin top and my waist is much more defined. I cannot recomend it enough.

    Hi,

I joined slimming world 6 weeks ago, and so far have lost 18lb. I do have around 5 stone to lose though, but have tried all sorts in the past, and Slimming World seems to be working for me. I can see the results already, and have dropped a dress size in 5 weeks!

You can eat as much as you like of the 'free food', so you have no excuse for picking on the wrong things, as you never need to be hungry.

I would definitely recommend Slimming World to anyone.

    Good Luck to Everyone.

    5 rules:

I avoid wheat - not all carbs.

    I avoid dairy.

    I avoid caffeine.

    I only have alcohol socially.

I do my best (but often fail) to avoid sugar.

Generally, I try to drink plenty of water, pre-prepare my meals so I don't make last minute naughty decisions, keep the bad stuff out the house and stock up on good things. When making one meal I always try to make another alongside to keep for the next day.

A few things I eat to satisfy cravings:

Mini milks, Naked bars, unroasted cashews, greek yoghurt, Ombar chocolate, almond butter on rice cakes.

    My main rules are

    1. have a balanced diet and eat sensibly but have what I want at least once a week otherwise it's boring.

    2. At least 30 mins exercise every day. (love the 30 day shred)

    3. I Take aloe vera daily and use my own weight management and detox products.

    4. No booze in the week only socially

I have been a size 12 since I was at school as I eat regularly, starving yourself messes up your metabolism.

    Hi MrsMrsMrsAnnaJohnson,

I have always been curvy and am constantly trying to lose weight. I decided last year to do a total lifestyle change and whilst I am not totally strict with myself it has worked. I am 38lbs off and only 29lbs to go. I sort of stick to the weight watchers for my diet but do have 1 or 2 naughty days, I walk and use my crosstrainer for exercise and also use Zaggora products. I am doing it for charity - I can just never seem to do it for me. I am blogging about it too which I think helps because I am forced to write everything down. (www.lbsforpounds.wordpress.com)

In addition I got some www.Zaggora.com products so whether I was wearing them to the gym, to the housework or even just to the office I am burning extra calories. I am now an Ambassador so feel free to use my discount code to get 10% off anything you purchase. I won't lie - I do earn a commission but a minimum 50% of my commission goes to my charity (Help For Heroes) so it is worth it. My code if you did want to use it is ILBS4£S

Good luck and be sure to let us all know what you are doing and how it is working out for you. Oh and have a truly amazing Wedding Day!

    Kindest regards,

    xXx Carrena xXx
