Marriage isn't for everyone.

Not everyone is capable of putting someone else first. Not everyone is capable of considering other people in their decisions. Some people don't like sharing their 'personal space' with other people.

I don't think it's a case of liking being single, think a lot of people just get used to it. There have been times in previous relationships that I've had the nagging feeling everything would just be easier but think it's usually due to a certain situation (like after a barney!!). I don't think people choose to be on there own. My partners mum has been single for nearly 20 years and say's she prefers it, but it doesn't stop her being bitter about his dad being in a different relationship and happy...so secretly she's not happy me thinks lol.

Surely it's better to be single, then be married to the wrong person and be miserable. Some people just don't find the right person.

And as for kids being cute (and no not all kids are cute), it's hardly a reason to have them. Some people just don't want kids, there's nothing wrong with that. Better to not have them, then have them and regret it.
