Will you go out without makeup on?

Knees, 17 October, 2011 at 09:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 52

Just pondering something that occurred to me yesterday.

My usual "laying about the house on a Sunday" outfit consists of tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie, which is exactly what I was wearing yesterday, with no makeup and hair in a ponytail.

I needed to go to the supermarket and I spent a while wondering if I should change/put makeup on, but decided against it and went as I was.

Will you go out in your slobby clothes with no makeup? I'm not talking meeting friends or anything, just popping out to the shops.

Slobby clothes - yes, make up - never!

I hate even opening my door without make up on in case it's someone I know.

Yes. But only if it's popping to the shops or something similar.

I will nip to the shops in joggers and a hoodie, no make up and hair scraped back. I don't care in the slightest and still look better than the folk there in their PJs!

Always Smiley smile I hardly ever wear make up - I only put some on (eyeshadow and mascara) when I'm going on a night out Smiley smile

I don't wear tracksuit bottoms so not sure if my "slobby" clothes look quite as "slobby" as yours Smiley winking

But will go out without make-up. Only to do food shopping or something. Never anywhere where I might meet someone I know.

Without make-up, yes, but I won't go out in my slobby clothes. I don't like doing the school run with no make-up on because there's quite a lot of 'yummy mummy' types at the school and I feel a bit uncomfortable. I did go out bare-faced the other day though and very much had the attitude of "f*ck off, I'm ill. Be thankful I'm not crying while I walk through the playground!" ?

No, I'd never go out in my slobby clothes. That's basically going out in my pjs!! I do often go out without make-up. If I'm just going to the supermarket or walking the dog. I don't always wear make-up to work either.

    I do regularly.

Yesterday I cleaned the house, then went to Tesco to get bits for dinner and as I walked through the door though - ah bugger, forgotten to do my make up again.

I then went home, cooked dinner, had my guests arrive and still didn't have any on - oops!

These days I tend to only wear make up if I am going out and need a confidence boost - so currently meeting new friends for coffee, job interviews etc.

ETA: should say my slobby clothes are either Jeans or Linen trousers and are usually just 1/2 inch too big etc. I rarely wear my hoodies but will wear a plain Tee/Vest with cardigan.

I don't always wear foundation but never leave the house without lip colour and lip balm and mascara.

I only wear jog pants at home or the gym. If I have to nip to the shop I will throw on Jeans or leggings and boots (weather permitting)

I wear minimal make up during week (ie concealer, powder). At weekends - If Im sitting in mostly i'll wear none. If Im out its the full works.

I fake tan so that helps when wearing no make up.

I only wear proper sportswear for sport so would be unlikely to go out to the shops etc in it unless it was on my way to and from our club.

My home 'uniform' consists of yoga pants, leggings etc and would be more inclined to wear those to the shop if I had to pop out but I'd probably change into jeans. I rarely wear make up when I'm working at home so wouldn't whack on any just for a trip to buy a paper or some milk.

I would always make an effort when outside the house, both professionally and socially. I read this article the other day. Made for interesting reading: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/13/fashion/makeup-makes-women-appear-more-competent-study.html?_r=1&src=tp

Yes, I am sat at my desk with barely any on now!

I do love make-up, but I can't be bothered with it everyday.

I love getting ready for a night out and spending ages doing my eyes etc. Really makes me feel good.

I don't wear make up so that wouldn't bother me in the least. Last time I wore any was my wedding day and even that was minimal.

My slobby clothes are jeans and a vest with a cardigan, not that slobby I reckon! I've never thought twice about leaving the house in whatever I'm wearing unless I'm in my jammies.

People probably think I look a state 100% of the time now I think about it, hmm..

    I don't really wear make-up ?

I've been trying to make a bit more of an effort to learn how to put it on properly recently though, and tend to wear it out to nearly all social things now. I feel I look worse with it on half the time though!

Not unless I can keep my sunglasses on the whole time. I look half dead without make up.

My slobby clothes are jeans and top (actually, that's my normal clothes), and I only wear make up for nights out.

    I don't think I look too bad

I always have to change into jeans and check my hair is passable, but I don't mind people seeing me without make-up.

I live near a university and the students wear hoodies, jogging bottoms and flip-flops everwhere, I think it looks awful, like they can't even be a*sed to put normal clothes on. Sometimes they don't even bother with the flip-flops, they just walk barefoot in the street ?

I dont wear slobby clothes in all honesty, Im always in a pair of jeans and a tshirt so thats how I would go shopping. I must confess I rarely leave the house without my makeup I just feel bare with out and you never know who you are going to bump into - this may well change when the kidiwinkles come along! but actually I doubt it ?

I have to admit, I don't wear sports gear at all really...the ONLY time I go out of the house dressed in anything like sports apparel is walking to the gym in the morning before work (sun is rarely up, about 6.30am) and I look an absolute fright. I wear my MBT trainers so I am rocking a bit, and holey leggings (blue and actual woolly), a big tshirt (often orange or bright pink...) and a bulky coat, no make up and a wooly hat. I look terrible and I would actually RUN away from anyone I know

During actual day light hours? No I wouldn't go out of the house unless I had got ready

Never, not ever, no way! Unless I'm going to the salon for a facial in which case I park in the car park next door, have a good look round to make sure no one is looking and then run to the door. I look scary without any eyes on and don't want to frighten little children Smiley winking

I have to have an absolute minimum of mascara and lip balm on to open the front door unless I'm ill. I wear minimum for work, and only bother with full make-up for nights out and weddings.

My slobs consist of trackies/ t-shirt and massive hoodie - And I would never be seen in public with these on! Always have to change into something presentable. More than happy to go out without make up on though, and often do. Sometimes I'll whack on a bit of eyeliner and mascara if I have time, but will only do a full face when we go out of an evening, or if we go into town or something.

I rarely go out with any on.

I'll slap up (for me) to go out (rare) but I would never think to put any on just to go to the shops- I often dont to go to work, but I usually remember at least some mascara and concealer. OH doesnt really like me putting make up on (that sounds a bit harsh, obviousy he tells me I look lovely when I do myself up but he doesnt see the point in it- so its either a lovely compliment or I'm cr@p at applying it!) he's laugh himslf silly at me if put it on to go to the paper shop.

I would very rarely go out in jogging bottoms though- I often wear them at home but change into jeans to venture out the house- I dont really even like wearing them in the garden in case the neighbours see!

I'm not a fan of make up, though I do put a bit of eye liner and mascara on when I go out at the weekend. I never put blusher or anything like that on, if you passed me some, I'd have no idea what to do with it! I often go out to the pub or wherever without make up. In fact, me and OH are going into town tonight for a meal and drinks and I'm going without make up
