Hi! Ive just remebered that an Ibizan bride emailed me for the Amante 2012 brochure as only the 2013 one is up on their website now and the £££'s are scary! I cant remember who it was ? but I do have the brochure so give me a shout ... again ?... and Ill send it across xxx
How are all the 2012 Ibiza brides getting along? I can't believe it is 7 months today that me and OH get hitched! The time is really flying by.
I have done most of the important things now, just got lots left to pay for!
QQ, what are your OHs wearing for the wedding? My OH really doesn't know what he wants to wear, and I am struggling to help. I suspect it'll be really hot so I don't want him to be baking hot and pass out! Lol!

My H2B is wearing a beige linen suit from Moss (he works there), and we're getting them for the father of the bride/groom and the best man/ushers, as well. At the moment we think the ushers/fathers will wear same colour tie as bridesmaid dresses, but not sure what colour tie for H2B to go for! He needs to stand out as the groom but also co-ordinate. It's a tricky one!!
See my OH likes the idea of linen, as it'll be cooler. I like the idea of it on other people!!!! I'm concerned he'll look untidy, he looks untidy all the time as that is his "style", but on our wedding day I want him to look smart and my concern with linen is the creases! He isn't the type of person who would be able to keep himself looking smart for more than 10 minutes, I've got visions of walking down the aisle to him in a crumpled mess!
You should check out the Moss beige linen suits – they're a slightly thicker linen so don't look like they'd crease as easy. Definitely get them steamed on the morning of the wedding though. I think with a crisp white shirt, it'll look fab :-)
Or you can get lightweight suits that you might prefer. Moss do a lovely light grey one that I'm sure your OH would be happy in. Looks like a normal lounge suit but just a thinner, lighter material.
I think this is what my OH is going to wear. Not necessarily from Moss but still a light grey suit. He really wants to wear a suit , and he looks so handsome in grey. I think the bestmen and ushers are going to be wearing grey waistcoats and smart trousers - no suit jackets for them. Luckily Saint Miguel is airconned and his jacket can come off at Amante. He is choosing the guys outfits though and I must admit that it is slightly freaking me out that he hasnt strated looking yet and is totally calm about it...no where near as stressy as me ?
ooooh going to see my dress tomorrow again though Im part excited part freaking out! ?
Pix the dress was absolutely beautiful - as I knew it would be - and fit like a glove but had seemed to have been altered by a bad seamstress as the hem was all skew and much shorter on one side. It obviously didn’t bother the owner but it REALLY worried me and if Id had it straightened it would have been too short. Also if you think about it the wonderful thing about Jenny P dresses is the way the flow and move so mistake was sooooo obvious! Never mind though cos the whole bre thing wasn’t actually an issue so I’m going to ring around Jenny P stockists tomorrow to see if I can find I cheaper than in the boutique and if not its 6 months to go and back to the dress drawing board. Im pretty calm about it all though
Glad the boobage situation was ok, shame about the hem though. Have you tried the preloved and ebay for other dresses? Also, you and your weddings forum has a dress for sale section. Good Luck on the hunt!
if it helps girls, i've DJed at lots of weddings here and it's very unusual for there to be a formal dress code. i've seen the groom in a formal suit a few times, but usually he is the only one in a proper suit!
obviously linen is popular, especially in whites & beiges and i've seen fitted suits with shorts as well.
interestingly enough, the few weddings i've seen with a lot of suits tend to be the ones that are self planned, rather than using a wedding planner. i guess they always advise against it, partly because of the heat, and partly because it's not the fashion here i guess.
regardless, this being ibiza, you make your own fashion rules and no one will bat an eyelid!
apart from any snobs or fashion police that you bring along with you of course ;-)
I planned a wedding at the Hacienda in september , it was stunning. The ceremony when the sunsets is out of this world. Planned a few at Atzaro is very stylish and casa mila lovely .
Hey everyone - Merry xmas hope youve all had an amazing time!
We have a few very special family members who now cant make our wedding so we now think we'd like a videographer. Ive contacted Giacomo and he is already booked so can anyone reccomend any other videographers on the island? Ive had a couple recs of UK based guys who will travel but definitely think that will be too expensive.
San Carlos my favourite so beautiful inside and very relaxed outside very picturesque.
For your ceremony at Hacienda you usually have to stay their for a number of nights to hold your ceremony. I planned a wedding at the Hacienda for some clients it was beautiful with the sunset. I can email you what they paid if that helps x
Most of those churches are beautiful, (the chapel of Lourdes is on Santa Eulalia main Street - so not pretty outside ). San Agustin - just perfect - why travel any further....... xxxxx Especially if you are planning on catering at the villa, this will save the great expense of hiring transport to take everyone to the church and back .
Yes agreed - Hacienda is not very forth coming with prices or even booking, unless you are taking their full package, any clients that we have had using Hacienda have visited or telephoned and spoken direct, it is a very exclusive place, the ampitheatre is wonderful, fabulous views and of course private, as long as you can stand heights!!!! Expect to pay double to most other places though, they will want to serve at least champagne and canapes, (bear in mind a white coffee is 4.5€). Also you may have to stay a couple of nights.
Cas Mila - is almost the opposite end of the scale!! - very pretty views, good service, and well priced.
Ibiza hire, a good hard working team very reasonably priced, I have delivered wedding cakes when they have been catering - and it all looks good to me , Nick (owner) is also very helpful with all other aspects of the wedding event and of course he provides all the accessories (tables - chairs, cutlery etc) - really helps price wise!!!
I went to see Hacienda na Xamena and it is amazing - they quoted us 600 euros for the use of the amphitheatre, plus 165 euros per person for dinner, drinks, cake, decoration, flowers etc. Dancing afterwards is 30 euros per person per hour. The quote is for October 2012 though so I guess prices may differ depending on the time of the year.
We decided to book Amante instead in the end - although price-wise Hacienda really wasn't that much more expensive. I liked the fact that the price includes everything at Hacienda, there aren't any hidden costs. They also offered us a complimentary suite and use of the spa. The reason we didn't go with them is because we didn't want to transport all our guests backwards and forwards from Santa Eulalia, Amante is more convenient. I also think Zeta at Amante does a good job and will be a great help in the run up to the wedding (10 months to go....!)
Persevere with Hacienda, you'll hear back from them eventually - they are probably just all on holiday at the moment! The contact person I've been in touch with there is Sabina - ******@*******************.***
Hope this helps, I'm really excited about my wedding and it's great to hear about everyone else's, too!
Oops - forgot to mention - they didn't ask us to book any accommodation as part of the package. Again though, I guess this depends on the time of the year.
I'm getting married in San Carlos, it's beautiful, but quite far away from San Agustin I think, so you'd be better off having one nearer to you to save on transport costs.
Talking of transport, has anyone arranged theirs yet? I'm after a classic car to take me and my dad to the church and a stretch limo to transport the bridesmaids and my mum. Haven't had much look looking online – has anyone got any contacts?
Yes, Sabina is the wedding planner and agreed they really do prefer to see you in person and do the complete package, my husband is often called to perform the ceremony at the Hacienda, and they pay him direct. So you do get a full wedding planning service,
Amante, is also stunning, it is one of my favorite places, not only does it 'wow' the guests when they arrive, the staff are also so attentive and helpful, they include an inhouse wedding planner (Zeta). I almost booked this place too.
I was married in the UK last November, and although we held a small reception for close family and friends in the UK, we are also planning a blessing here on the Island, BEFORE the season starts, ( April 2012). My new husband normally is the celebrant host himself, so on this occassion he will be writing one for us, and a very good friend will be reading this for us on our special day .
I have a very 'exclusive' venue We will hold our ceremony in a neolithic stone circle. It was transported from the UK about 5 years ago, and is set up in a private garden very close to Cala Jondal beach, (near Blue Marlin). We are planning on approximately 70 guests mainly Island people. All very informal.
I will be making another wedding cake for this event!!!! (as I made one and took it to the UK for the official wedding .
So I am planning too, besides taking orders and organising wedding cakes for what appears is going to be a very busy wedding season!!!!!
Have to say, i agree with blue_moon - the hacienda represents very good value.
there are many places where you can spend €200 per head, but most of them don't even come close to the hacienda in terms of location, presentation, or service.
granted those prices will be out of many peoples reach, but it's not a rip-off, or anything like - as far as I'm concerned the weddings there are a bargain, especially considering how much it would usually cost to visit, let alone stay there.....
i've DJed at a few weddings there and they have all been amazing. the food is incredible as well.
Tell me about it! The church had two enquiries for our day and only does one wedding per day...why I don’t know... and the other couple were local so we were bumped. Realllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy disappointed and quite frustrated with the whole thing actually. There is this horrible thing were you cant book churches far in advance (usually a max of six months) but if you’re not quick enough they’re gone, like ours was. Sam reckons she’s never had anything like this happen before we are appealing to the Priest to do two services so only time will tell. Other options are St Gertrudis or St Charles both lovely but just not the same☹️. So because of this we now have 70 invites sitting in my lounge waiting to be sent with their new inserts for the new time/venue and we need returns mid March so Amante has our numbers 6 weeks before. Pretty stressed about it to be honest...?
Oh no, what an absolute nightmare. I would be really fed up!
What date is the actual wedding? Realistically as long as you get the invites out by mid Feb that should give people enough time to reply to you, I would assume they know if they are coming or not at this stage. Has Sam said when you are likel to hear back from the priest?
I thought you were talking about Playa Den Bossa pixee - made more sense when I scrolled up to see Paisse d'en Bernat!!!
I've done a few weddings there and it's really nice. I DJ'd all the way through sunset for Andrew Barton's wedding and the view as the sun went down was amazing.
Great crowd too - that's pretty much guaranteed when the bride and groom are both boys though ;-)
can you not send the invites without the church on if you don't get confirmation in time?
most people are going to want directions closer to the day anyway so it's not the end of the world even if the location changes substantially - it's a small island after all ;-)
it shouldn't affect people's decision to come and as far as accommodation goes, they will probably want to be closer to the reception venue than the place where they start the day....
sorry if i'm speaking out of turn, i'm not really the expert on these things. plus, women are from venus, men are from mars etc. etc.........
I was just about to write, and saw I was about to write more or less the same thing as Beeswaz!!! - Es Cuebells is a lovely church, but hey so is San Carlos, and all are so pretty on this Island, don't let it get you stressed, and do what Bees recommends - even if he is a man
