We're giving everyone a selection of twinings tea bags to fit with our tea party theme. Each favour has cost less than 35p per person.

We've not finalised anything yet but like the idea of heart shaped biscuits iced with our guests names... also use as place names!

I'm thinking either Mini Welsh love spoons for the ladies, and Welsh Fudge or if the budget can stretch Welsh Whiskey for the men.

My wedding is over 2 years away but so far I have come up with,

handmade wine glass charms with a butterfly charm & clear crystals & pink pearl beads (to go with the theme)

I have collected lots of meaningful love/life quotes which im going to print off like little fortune strips for each guest which they can keep, also makes a good ice breaker for the tables!

Sweetie trees on the tables in the bar area..

We have a brooch for the ladies and a pin badge for the men both supporting Childrens Hospice Southwest which is VERY close to our hearts at my nephew was cared for and eventually passed away in their care. We will also be popping in some sweets in the box.

For the Children I am making boxes up full of little (what I call junk haha) toys like you would get in a party bag but things like colouring, pencils etc

    xxxx

    Everyone got a vintage teacup- filled with sweets and their name on a luggage tag so it was a place setting too. This is the only picture I can find and its no ideal but gives you an impression;

This is what I was thinkiing of doing, did you give the tea cups to the guests to take home? I was hoping to keep my teacups to sell on ebay after but what if the guests think that they can take them? ?

I gave them their teacups as a favour- I choose teacups to what I thought they would like which was one of my favourite planning stages. Plus they started drinking Jager out of them by 5pm!

I put a line in the order of the day to say that they teacups where for them. TBH they didn't cost me much- probably only £100 for them all so its not a huge expense and I thought it gave them a nice lasting reminder.

    Hi,

I was on here looking for a few more ideas because we are on a tight budget and i thought i would share with you what we are doing.

rough short story: we have only £1,000.00 to plan our wedding. so far my lady fare has been making the cake (result!), i am handling teh invitations (simple print offs pasted onto card paper), my 3 brothers are chipping in to handle decorations of the reception party, we rented a hall through a family member for £80.00 for the night and our service is being conducted in the town hall.

Even though it is a tight budget we are planning on inviting just over 150 people! Marrying later in life has left us with large extended families (children, their children, lifelong friends, so on and so forth)

The conversations of to wedding favour or not to wedding favour has been tossed around along with the ideas of only being able to serve pizza and butties at the party or (and i DO NOT reccomend saying this to a bride to be) i had mentioned getting everyone a happy meal! ? My arm STILL hurts!

A few days ago, my internet geek of a wifey to be found a local place that is handling all of our wedding favours for 80p per box. we get 2 peices of fudge in the flavours we choose (going with wedding theme colours and we picked two flavours that are those colours.) and the box comes with a label with our name and wedding date on it.

luckily enough, this place also had a catering company and we have managed to get an informal buffet style dinner setup for only £3.25 per head! cheaper than mcdonalds! ?

we got a discount on the favours because we were also using the catering company and ordered over 100 boxes for our party.

under £700.00 total for the favours and full catering event of 150 people!

this next part appeals to the men: the catering company comes to the event and cooks the bbq food on a grill that looks like a pistol! i even have permission to have photos taken next to it!

so you may want to consider getting favours that are out of the ordinary. i have never seen fudge favours before, but i hjave had a sample when we went to get our quote and i think everone is going to love them.

we had quotes from other catering companies that were nearly double what we ended up paying and that pricde DIDNT include favours!

use the internet and look around for a deal. but also look for things that people dont normally use as favours. I know when we looked around a few weeks ago, it was going to cost us over £100.00 for the boxes, £80.00 for enough sugared almonds and then we would have to stuff and print our own labels for the boxes. so for less than that, someone else is doing the work and we are getting something unique.

I will post a pic aftter my reception fo me with the bbq grill!

Good luck to you and congrats!

I am in charge of wedding favours for the little ones. I have purchased some beautiful traditional rag dolls from a site called www.personalisedbears.net. Never seen them anywhere else and the quality is outstanding and they are very reasonably priced.

My other half proposed to me by putting the ring in a kinder egg. So we are giving our guests a kinder egg each. We've wrapped them in tissue paper and tied them up with florist ribbon. We've done around 70 for about £50.

As we are having a cheese wedding cake, we are giving our guests little jars of home made chutney. That way, they will hopefully get some use out of it later in the night when we have the cake!!
