Whos your emergency contact?

Flowmojo, 28 September, 2011 at 12:22 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 17

Is it your other half or your parents?! Just discussing this at work and general consensus is 'Mum'...mine is Mr F, I cant imagien the state my mum woudl be in if a paramedic rang her telling her id been involved in an accident!!!! At least Mr F would be a little bit more rationale!!

Also, do you all have your emergency contact saved under ICE on your phones? If not, DO!!

My husband. He's also the beneficiary of anything that will pay out when I pop my clogs (as well as my pension etc).

At the moment, I think parents (at work, on passport etc). Will change over now to boy, as and when required. Probably need to sort thorugh my insurance/pension scheme beneficiaries etc (unless marriage automatically trumps anything previously stated?).

Boy has had me as his emergency contact for several years now.

My Mum. My OH has me as his, as he has nothing to do with his folks.

I will change mine to OH once we are hitched.

Mr S is my emergency contact. Have put Ma Spangler on the passport too, as I'd be with Mr S anyway on holibobs.

Mine is my husband, but I should change this given there is no way to contact him this next 6 months.

My Husbands is either me, or his Uncle (oddly I am just about to go and check) - it's very important for him because of his job, and he always previously named his uncle citing that he'd not want Military police to tell me/his parents if anything was to happen to him (touch wood, this will never be needed/be an issue) but I know he also stated his Uncle was to drive and tell us individually. I think marriage over-rides previous plans and makes me automatically his next of Kin, so I am about to confirm!

I didnt think of all this army malarky. I think id still want to be the first to know, in the worse case. But good point about your next of kin whilst he's away! Will bear that in mind

I think mine is my mum/dad on the basis that they are more likely to be able to get hold of them than H. I do seem to recall nominating my dad on my life insurance though, on the basis that I'd not been with H that long at that point. Really should change that over....
