Did you bake them in individual hoops? If you want the icing a bit smoother and neater all you need to do is level off the cakes a bit, keeping the corners square and maybe make the icing a little bit thicker ?

Thanks! yes jenny, i used mini tins. its the first time ive used them and the cakes didnt come out clean, i think i better line them next time to get smoother edges. and i did roll the fondant out a bit thin on some. trial & error ?

That's exactly what practice runs are for ? Definitely line the tins, grease them first so the greaseproof paper sticks to the inside, that'll make them much easier to fill x Love the autumnal colours ?

Thanks jenny... h2b isnt keen on the all white blossoms & leaves so i think i'll do them all in colours. i mixed up some amazing rich colours last nite so therell be a lot more variety rather than just the 3 or 4 colours i used here. im excited to be making my own cake, it will be such an achievement for me

I think they are gorgeous and the mix of colours and designs are fab! You'll have to do another practice and show us with different colours, i think these like this are really classy and sweet!

My mini tins are actually open ended round cylinders that stand on a flat tray, you can buy re useable liners for them, might be worth looking out for them And your cakes are brilliant
