Where does your OH shop?

Storky, 8 September, 2011 at 14:31 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 28

Mr Cricket isn't a particularly keen shopper but when he does go he frequents:

River Island

Ted Baker

Banana Republic

Hackett

Gant

John Lewis

Zara

Hollister (I steal his hoodies)

Debenhams

Your gentlemen?

He doesn't shop. It makes him angry... His band t-shirts he usually buys at gigs or festivals. The selection of Transformers t-shirts have mainly come from places like Forbidden Planet. The majority of his trousers and shorts are probably from Tesco or Asda.

Suits for work he gets from M&S.

Mr F likes a bit fo RI and Zara..also has lots of asos stuff!

    Work stuffs generally Debenhams

Id say hes a snappy dresser (often gets asked if hes gay because apparently dressing well means your gay!?) so doesnt wear what id call 'sports wear' (hoodies et al) much to my dismay Smiley sad

I must add that Mr CB is most often found in a suit, jeans and a shirt or cricket whites!

The Harley Davison shop in Slough; I dont like the T shirts he wears but its not my choice.

    Next

    Debenhams

    House of Fraser

    River Island

The New Look store in Westfield is really good for mens wear.

He also likes labels like Lacost, Stone Island, Ralph Lauren etc

He doesnt shop that often but when he does; he will spend hours in one shop. Very frustrating for me as I am an impulse shopper and Mr T soooooo isnt!

OH will only wear Diesel jeans, and then usually a branded and stupidly expensive t-shirt and jumper from the likes G-Star, Superdry etc. Occassionally he will lower (!) himself to Zara or RI. He is a total and utter label snob, which I find hillarious as I sit next to him in Florence and Fred. But it's his money to do with as he wishes. And I do secretly like it, his style suits him plus he's 20 years older than me so it also helps to make him look younger.

I was actually considering starting a thread asking "do your OHs shop" as I don't think he has ever actually gone shopping for clothes, as in made a specific trip to buy something to wear. If I've gone shopping and he is with me he might spot something in a shop we're already in (so Asda or somewhere like New Look that has both menswear and womenswear). I honestly think if I didn't buy him stuff he'd still be wearing the stuff he was in when he was 25. If it wasn't for Christmas he'd never have new pants or socks!

Usually River Island and Next, occasionally Jack Wills and boutiqey type places for Diesel jeans or Ralph Lauren polo shirts (but these places tend to be on his annual splurge rather than a normal shopping trip). He's not a huge shopper really, but he does tend to take longer in shops than I do which can be annoying. Strangely he doesn't shop online, and shows no interest when i suggest looking at stuff on ASOS or something!

I've just managed to change his mind about Primark though so now he's not so averse to a look in the gents section (he used to just find somewhere to sit and play angry birds when I went in there ?). His face was a picture though when he found some plimsols for £3 he was well chuffed!

My other half would faint at the though of going into Primark, not even to accompany me - so you are doing well!

    Mr C hates shopping.

Wears trakkies for work so quite often gets his gear in Sports Direct *shudder*

Non-work clothes he would normally go for New Look, Peacocks, Matalan... the cheaper the better! He is not your typically fashionable skinny jeans type man, more of a rugby player build so is somewhat limited in a lot of fashion driven places.

He is not a label fan, doesn't like big logos on clothes either.

H only ever shops for himself in either an outdoor shop - for running/warn/cold gear as I have no knowlege of what happens in those places and then always in Ralph Lauren which I am so upset I introduced him to.

I however buy the majority of the rest of his things and shop for him anywhere - Debenhams, new look, republic, john lewis, any sports shop or online trainer retailer, Burtons menswear. I'm really not fussed what he wears. I've even been known to buy him undies from Primark - when he is out on excercise they can get so grubby there is no point in washing them, and I don't feel as bad binning them.

ETA: Just saw the comment about someone's OH never allowing them to shop for them in Primark - my brother is exactly the same, so his GF would go to Primark for him, cut the labels out and get them washing/ironed/hung in the wardrobe so he never knew where they were from!

H hates shopping so goes to Selfridges when we are in the UK as he can get everything he needs in there. I usually pick up a few bits if I see things for him when I am shopping though and they can come from anywhere. We need to go shopping tomorrow for him- dreading it - and don't know where to start as there is no Selfridges here. I already know it'll be a bad day for him!

He tends to wait for Christmas and birthday's and get people to buy him clothes or I'll pick him up the odd bit now and then but when he does go shopping we're quite lucky that we live so close to Bluewater and he'll shop in RI, House of Fraser and Superdry. He can wear jeans/t-shirt to work but when he's out on meetings he wears shirts which he tends to buy from M&S as they do a non-iron range which is quite handy!!

OH hates shopping, so most of his clothes are bought for him. I don't think I've ever been with him when he's bought an item of clothing, except for suits/shirts for work.

He has a couple of suits from TM Lewin and a couple from Burtons. Most of his shirts are from M&S but he has a few nice ones for weddings etc from Next.

Outside of work, he lives in shorts, whatever the weather, and long sleeved shirts or hoodies. I've bought him hoodies from Next, Burtons and sometimes Matalan. Most of his casual shirts are stolen from his dad's wardrobe.

    He's a terrible dresser.

OH doesn't like shopping. Usually he'll go to the likes of TK Max and see what they have there.

Sange, my OH has a pair of nice Ar*e jeans too, but when i follow him around the outcome is very different ? - he has taken to wearing them alot, so the effect has worn off slightly. I do love him in a suit. he always looks so handsome ?

My OH gets his work suits from somewhere in Birmingham, but I have no idea what the place is called.

He gets the rest of his clothes from Blue Banana, or anywhere else which stocks Iron Fist T-shirts.

Next, Burtons, Debenhams, sometimes John Lewis. He's also found some t-shirts in camping shops recently. He doesn't have to be smart for work, so usually just wears short/jeans and t shirts and hoodies all year round!
