Hello all,been off here for awhile. Congratulations to all the newly engaged ladies on this thread and wonderful pics from Tina and Imagine it- gorgeous dresses !

Since my last post I have received my dress which is just being altered at the moment,and our rings arrived last week so I'll have to put some pics up soon (if I can work out how to do it,lol) Have ordered my wedding jewellery as well, just debating now on what to plonk on my head because all my jewellery is rose gold,which of course matches absolutely nothing (I like a challenge) Was thinking perhaps fresh flowers may be the way to go, I will be carrying a bunch of white singapore orchids so I'm sure the hairdresser can steal one or two and pop them into my hair ?

Anyway once I get my dress back and my jewellery arrives, I will try to get some pics posted on here !

No,I tried to take pictures of our rings but they didn't come out well at all! Will get OH to do it on his camera,and try to post some up. Haven't received the necklace/earrings/bracelet set I've ordered yet,it's only gold plated but I doubt I'll be wearing it again after the wedding do, so hopefully it'll do the job...:-)

Just a bit! I've been planning for a year now lol! I went for this one but I'm having it made in champagne coloured organza & changing the neckline to sweetheart

The bridesmaid dresses won't be started til the Summer. I've put a deposit on the material so know I've got that. She wants the rest of the money soon so she can buy the lining material. She'll have to wait because my venue want 25% of the balance next month! x

Sarah, I love the dress and look forward to some snaps of that too. It's a bit panic inducing everyone wanting money all at the same time. We have the expensive deposits and bits to start this summer. I'm glad that I've had a long time to plan as all the small bits (that add up) have now been bought. I have the most beautiful pew ends lol

The whole paying for things is super scary lol! I realised on Friday that I've screwed my figures up in a big way so I'm in a bit of a panic now. The OH's parents are contributing but I doubt it'll be as much as I need. Oh well, it'll work out ?

Ok, I hope I've done this correctly...Here is a picture of my engagement ring which is 9ct hammered rose gold with a half carat chocolate diamond, my wedding ring which is 9ct rose gold bark effect and OH's which is palladium 500 hammered comfort fit band. The wedding rings are from Albarose- half the price we could have paid elsewhere and so much choice on bands-you can choose the metal,style,width and finish,we were so pleased with them :-)

They're gorgeous and so different! I've never seen a chocolate diamond!

Thank you-we both wanted something a bit different and came across pics of a choc diamond ring on the jewellers website, I liked the idea of it with rose gold so my OH had it made for me. I got to choose my diamond from a selection :-)

Almost edible it looks so good. I'm going to look at the website now as your rose gold wedding ring has definitely made me decide that it's what I want. I think I'm going for thin and shiny as I have a white gold engagement ring. Thanks for flashing!

Reviving this thread to ask if there are any older brides here? I'll be 52 when I get married next summer. It's a first time for the both of us.

Does anyone have tips for hair and makeup for older brides? I'll be hiring someone to do my hair but will be doing my own makeup.

Yes I was 46 when I got married to my now husband and had the worries of how I'd look in my dress because of age but was reassured by my bridesmaids that I'd be an awesome male bride regardless of my age and I'd look great in my dress and ballet flats. So my advice is basically don't worry about age your going to be stunning
